Hotel Platon — Hotel in Municipality of Rhodes

We experienced accomodation there in July 2021 for one week. First of all - absolutely perfect staff in reception. Friendly, helpfull, frank - what could I say more. Clear feeling that this is family business, and that family tries to do the best for hotel's reputation.||Room was not so big but definitely enought to stay. Mini-kitched inside the room appeared very suitable to cook coffee in the morning (to wake up faster). Bed - of good quality, sleeping was comfortable (one exception - below). Bathroom - equipment is slightly obsolete but it worked properly. Room and bathroom were clean enough (one exception - below as well)||Breakfast not so plenty but, let's say, normal for such kind of hotels. We were not hungry till lunch time, surely. Special feature - nice courtyard (patio) in rear of hotel - breakfast there is the moment of pleasure. ||Wi-fi coverage - whole hotel, lobby and rooms as well. Sometimes unstable but hotel staff cared to fix disconnection asap.||Location - the best. Town centre - 5 min, seashore - 6 min, bus stops to North and South - 2 min each, good market ("next door to home" format) - 1 min.||So - it could be tough 5 stars if only... ||Air conditioner in the room located just over your head. In my room A/C had slight defect - air flow can not be fixed along to the ceiling, so first night was quite cold for us. We tried to oped balcony door to equalize hot and cold - too noisy from the street... Next night we got idea to cover A/C with blackout curtain - cold air flow goes down to the floor - everything was perfect for the rest of the staying. Advice: check if A/C in your room can push cold air along the ceiling - or use my method.||About cleaning: thorough, careful but on Sunday it was absolutely absent, even trash bin remained full. Maybe, it's some kind of local tradition, I don't know (I mean - Sunday's leisure).||Rooms in the front side of hotel look to the highway - too noisy 24H a day. Rooms in rear - a hell of cicadas' scream. No problem if you sleep with windows closed, if you like fresh air - better choose rear side. Cicada' noise is regular, easy to inure.||So - hotel is perfectly good for tourists - both beach-style and country-explore one. I should recommend for visitors who do not request more than hotel can offer for not so...

I didn’t like anything. Extremely DIRTY, with cockroaches, the room was never cleaned. The bathroom was disgusting, the beds had no bed sheets (no bedding at all), no pillowcases, nothing. The mattress cover was all dirty with other people’s things. I forced myself to stay for 3 nights from the 7 nights that I had paid all upfront and then moved to another hotel and lost my money that I had already paid for the rest four nights. I will Never never never go to stay there again! The breakfast was disgusting. The salami was rotten. I didn’t try the coffee. The bathroom door was broken and the smell was horrible. Extremely dirty as the cleaner never cleaned it and nor mopped it. We informed the owner of the hotel and the receptionist that our room was never cleaned and there were no bed sheets and pillow covers so we couldn’t sleep on it. They only gave us the sheets so as we fix the beds by ourselves . The next day the cleaner forced herself in our room early in the morning wanting to bully us and threaten us why we created problems and told the owner that the bed sheets were missing while she could see that we were sleeping on bed sheets which by the way the receptionist gave us!!! We found cockroaches and the receptionist killed it but the hotel never came to do pest spray. The furniture was extremely old and destroyed. I wonder how come such a hotel still operates and is not shut down yet. The owner seemed not to care at all about any...

😊: This hotel was everything and more we had hoped for. Location is amazing, you are close to the store and the bus stop and a walking distance to all restaurants and the beach. Plus you can get to the airport very conviniently from the close by bus stop. Owner and the staff were very friendly and nice. We were on the second floor but our room had renovated bathroom which was amazing. You get nice shower, sink is located outside the bathroom and we prefered it that way. We had a double bed and it was very comfy. We got fresh towels everyday and our room was kept clean as well. You have an ac, fridge, hairdryer, balcony, vanity... pretty much all you need for an amazing vacation on a budget. Breakfast was large, you get a lot of amount from everything and it tastes good and the coffee surprisingly tasted very good too.. 😢: One of the outlets was kinda hazardous sticking form the wall and the door to the balcony was rough to open but cmon i think we got way more than we could have asked for.
