Do make yourself six friends (abduct or seduce strangers if absolutely necessary) — this is food meant to be shared. Frankly, I could have ordered the entire menu twice over.
This was, without question, among the finest expressions of Greek–Ottoman–Balkan cuisine I have encountered.
The ingredients are unpretentious — local, seasonal, and of evident quality — and each dish is treated with such care that it is allowed its own moment of glory. We savoured the utterly moreish beets with yoghurt and walnuts; the finest vine leaf rolls I have had in years (immaculately clean, none of that gloopy Greek sauce that leaves one longing for a Levantine rendition); and fried olives perfumed with the freshest rosemary — where have they been all my life? Especially brilliant alongside the slightly sweet bread. The grilled sausages, seasoned with Mediterranean spices and served with cheese, were divine.

The authenticity of the food is perceived by the fact that more greeks come to eat here than foreigners, so I assume that this restaurant is also loved by the locals. The restaurant doesn't have many seats, so I can assume it can be very busy sometimes. They do have their menu in Greeks (in their big board), but also offers a written menu in English. I think the waitress would also love to explain about the food in case you're unsure what to order. The food come relatively quickly too, so this is a great point. This is certainly a...
Read moreWe had such a lovely experience here! The atmosphere is cosy and welcoming – it really felt like being at home. We were a group of five and ended up sharing lots of dishes, which I’d highly recommend if you want to try a bit of everything.
The food was absolutely delicious – our favourites were the pork in truffle oil, beetroot salad, artichokes, and the beef tongue. Every dish was full of flavour and beautifully presented. We also loved the handwritten menus – such a charming touch.
The service was just as impressive. Our waiter (we forgot to get his name!) was excellent – friendly, attentive, and really made us feel looked after.
All in all, a fantastic evening. We’ll...
