The Heavy Melon - To vari peponi — Restaurant in Municipality of Thessaloniki

Honestly I was so excited to try this, but I was disappointed. Upon walking in, I can tell this place is very wide and open spaces bc of how high the ceilings were. There are many tables available when I walked in around lunch time & it was slow. They sort of have this build/choose the style you want your mac n cheese. The thing they could really improve on is having the price listed on the wall next to the options. I had no idea what the price would be the whole time I was ordering. I got a classic sauce, elbows, mixed in with chicken/mushroom/broccoli, & topped with panko bread crumbs. They also have hot cheeto dust as one of the options! I decided to sprinkle some of that on mine before digging in. The first anticipated bite was alright. The food literally came right off the pan but it isn't hot??? It was warm which was weird to me. The flavors are okay, they could've been more flavorful. I was expecting more, but they can definitely improve on...

We visited the Heavy Melon almost 5 years ago at our last visit to Thessaloniki, as we were taken there by our wonderful tour guide Eleni. It was amazing the food and the service. So memorable that we had to come back again on this visit to Thessaloniki. We booked a table for six and the food most definitely did not disappoint. Delicious and unusual flavours. The food most definitely deserves five stars without a doubt. The service on the other hand was terrible and ruined what should have been an excellent evening. The young waiter had a very poor attitude. He was abrupt, arrogant and condescending. He was unhelpful and completely inattentive. I have never left a restaurant and not left a tip but the service from this young man did not deserve one. I would want to visit again on my next visit but will only do so if I know that this waiter is no longer working at this really...

Discrimination 100%, when a person sits down at your table after he has asked if the table is reserved and you say no, you may sit...it is at least infuriating and impolite to ask him to leave just because another two person's walked in with no reservation too just because they would order more.... Nice to know that during holiday season you are a restaurant that discriminates and lie in to the faces of its clients by saying oh i am sorry, i made a mistake this is reserved after all... and then see that you give the table to those same 2 people....you should be ashamed.... worst restaurant ever... He never said wait... Well,I guess this is no surprise that you continue to lie your teeth out...... You could at least apologise instead of saying end of story... Maybe if you had manners this would have never happened in the...
