MARGHERITA — Restaurant in Municipality of Thessaloniki

I visited 2 times. The first time it was ok, the second time it was borderline bad. First of all, there are fruit flies inside the store, I don't know why, but I noticed that both times. The salad called "Chevre" was good, but the salad "Arancione" was a disappointment. The mangoes had a hard skin on them, the spinach and arugula were definitely from somewhere prepackaged, and there were huge chunks of them, not cut at all. Also there was hardly any dressing, the only flavorful thing was the Bresaola. For 10€ I expected something more. We got the pizza margherita classico, and I get that it's made in the brick oven and it's supposed to be "charred" but the pizza was burnt at the crust and left a bad taste after. (Are you supposed to not eat it?) The staff was polite, but the music in the store was too loud and out of place. Probably won't...

Usually I would not go for a pizza in Greece, because the greek cuisine has so much to offer. On the other hand you can not imagine the locals only eating saganaki and stuffed tomatoes all the time, so when I got the advise for Margherita by a friend living in the city I decided to give it a try. I must say that was a good decision. Basically, if you are a fan of the American way of making Pizza this might not be the right place for you. But if you believe the real Italian, Napoli style pizza is a good thing than you are perfect here. Simple setting with a simple card, but it is so amazingly delicious that even after having eaten one dish you would still be thinking of ordering another one. Honestly, if you like original Italian pasta and pizza there's no way of not loving...

We were on a 4 day trip in Thessaloniki and we craved pizza one day. We were meant to go to another pizza restaurant but there was no seating inside so we decided to find a nearby restaurant on google maps and that’s when this marvelous restaurant showed up as the closest nearby. We went and we were amazed! The open kitchen, the professional chef and staff , the amazing service and cozy atmosphere, the oh so delicious pizza as the cherry on top of this beautiful experience.
