So we got to this place which looks good from the outside and also the menu looks quite good. However we had an average starter where the "potatoes" were actually chips so thats clear lieing from the start. Dont put it on the menu if its not true! Secondly we asked for the mixed meat main and as we dont eat pork we asked for extra lamb as was suggested by the waiter but actually we got extra chicken. Again we were lied to and very reluctantly went ahead with the main which for €28 is a complete rip off. The food was warm at best, and the meat was poorly cooked. I believe i was robbed of my money in this place. If that wasnt enough another waiter or possibly the manager asked us if we enjoyed the food and we told him that we didnt as the meat was rubbery and chewy and we were lied to earlier. Instead of doing something about it or appologising he simply said we have served thousands of customers and you are the first and then arrogantly walked off! Terrible customer service and very disrespectful behaviour. Just for the information of the restaurant: If your staff continue this behaviour i wont be the last one to dislike it, probably the first of many. And secondly, i dont care if you have served a thousand people who like the food as i have been to at least 5000 restaurants and definitely over a thousand are a lot better than you guys. Thirdly, learn that if your customers dont like something then either appologise or remake the food, or offer a full refund. To conclude, having worked in the food industry myself in the UK you guys are lucky you are in Santorini, in the UK this would go to trading standards and within a month you guys would shut down. Santorini does not deserve such a poor restaurant. A big shame. Wont be ever returning and if you are after taste, eat a street Gyros as it is only €3 and a lot tastier. What a waste of time and money...

We stumbled upon this underrated treasure in Pirgos, far from the tourist crowds of Thira and Oia, and it turned our Santorini experience into something truly memorable.
The restaurant’s garden setting with towering trees creates an enchanting, relaxing atmosphere. It’s the perfect backdrop for savoring traditional Greek cuisine.
The menu had us in a delightful dilemma - every dish looked enticing. We started with the Zucchini Balls, and they were so scrumptiously divine that we wished the taste would never end. 🤤
Next up was the “Kavourmas” meat mix with mashed potatoes, surprisingly generous for a starter. The tender meat paired with creamy potatoes was simply heavenly. 😋
For our mains, we devoured the Kebab with yogurt and the “Kontosouvli” pork with pita bread, tzatziki, and rustic potatoes. Both portions were substantial. The veal and lamb Kebab, paired with spiced yogurt, was a standout. The only minor quibble was the fatty bits in the pork. We wish they had chicken souvlaki as an alternative, as we’re chicken lovers. 🐓
The service was impeccable. Our dishes arrived swiftly, and the staff’s warm, welcoming nature enhanced our Santorini dining experience. 🏃♂️🥇
We can’t praise this place enough and will undoubtedly return when we revisit this island in...
Read moreKantouni was our favorite restaurant during our stay in Santorini. We ate here multiple times because we simply couldn’t get enough. We tried the mixed marinated meats with potatoes and it was delicious, the lamb and chicken were definitely better than the beef so I would replace it with either of the other two skewers. We also tried the shrimp appetizer that was delicious. But our favorite meal we had here and in all of Santorini was the lamb chops. I will dream of them. I catch myself drifting off thinking of them. I don’t know that I will be able to enjoy any other ordinary lamb chops again. I know I am just a stranger on the internet, but trust me. Go here, order the chops. The Santorini salad is also fantastic. The feta cheese. The olives. The dressing. The chunks of salt. She is perfection. On top of it all, there are cats galore to accompany you through your delicious meal. I suggest getting dessert from their sweetery next door- as delicious as dinner. Kantouni, until we...
