This place really deserves a higher score than it has now. Family of three (one big ish guy and two smallish eating ladies). We came here on our first night and got one lamb souvlaki meal and a Greek salad between us, plus a couple of drinks. That was heaps of food for us, great quality and served quickly. We also got a taste of the baclava, which was really lovely. If you are looking for great food at a good price without the stuffiness of fine dining and you are in the Megalochori area then I would totally recommend Petrino.

Would recommend avoiding, like other reviews have mentioned they sit you down and immediately open the bottled water on the table and pour without asking. We ordered the grilled fish of the day and chicken slouvaki. Fish was okay but the chicken was extremely dry, some parts inedible as they were so hard. One of the pieces was also raw in the middle which we did let them know when we paid. They did apologise and gave us some free wine but definitely would not go back or recommend as a place to eat.

Weird. Food was normal, compared with the rest of our experience, but the really abnormal thing was the service; it were like 2 tables occupied, and two waiters, they took too much to take our order, we had to ask for their attention. Waiter starts to be “friendly“ and Asking us to buy him a tequila shot, since we are Mexicans… at noon (not judging) and insisting too much, it stopped to be funny…if ever was.

Main man - guy who likes to greet and invite people to dine while looking at the menu aaand then that’s about it after ‘caring’ about customers. Perhaps he’s the manager? As we could see him ordering staff to do stuff.

So, it took a while to be acknowledged that we were ready to order - which was a reasonable time for us to be ready. Main man took our order - all of us (including him) could speak fairly good English yet we still kept going back and forth with the order since one of the mains we wanted was apparently no longer available.

The worst bit is the fact that the order took nearly 2hrs to come to our table for 5mains only. (Other tables got there food before us, even when we ordered before them). Main man said the food will come in “5mins and 20seconds” after the first hour of waiting. Then “3mins and 20seconds” after about 5mins. Turned out to be well over 30mins after that for things to get rolling again?? Like why give a time frame in the first place?? Then gave us some bread “from the restaurant” to pass time yet it was still charged in the end.

Food was not bad according to my colleagues but personally mine was salty (grilled squid with lemon sauce). Came with salad on the side which I knew as I asked what it comes with upon ordering so I decided that i’d order a portion of fries as a side. And so that was forgotten, so I had to ask for it again halfway through my meal. Then apparently it’s “from the restaurant” once again. This time it actually was.

Lastly, when paying. Main man kept urging us if we’re paying by cash or card by practically holding the card machine next to us while the payee checks the bill. Then he had the audacity to ask to tip the waiter? Like with the service we had?

Would not recommend. Should have checked the reviews first but after just arriving, we just needed to eat at the time. That...

This is a remarkable place among remarkable places. All of the food we ate in Megalochori was excellent, but Petrino was really top notch. The team here: Yiannis the maitre d, Elena the waitress, and the chef (whom we had the honor of meeting, but unfortunately we didn't get his name) really put together an outstanding dining experience. I'm the kind of person who usually insists on never eating at the same place twice on vacation (I have food FOMO, so I always want to see what new things I might discover), but this was a rare case of the food being so good that I eagerly agreed with my family that we should return repeatedly during our stay. When every person at the table is making happy noises about their food, you have something special. We didn't have a single dish that wasn't spectacular. And Yiannis and Elena were so friendly and welcoming. They are lovely people. My husband asked me what my favorite part of our trip to Greece was (and we experienced a great deal of the country), and I had to say that I think my favorite memory will be of dinners in the square at Petrino, enjoying wine, great food, and conversation with perfect weather in a beautiful setting. Thank you for a...

if you visit santorini you HAVE to visit this place. we stayed in Megalochori for 4 days about 100m from this place and went here twice. currently sitting at the restaurant as i type this review. literally the best place ever. the SWEESTEST most attentive waiters and servers. The ones that served us were Andrew and Giannis. I loved them !! My friend was vegan and he sat down and read the menu to her and then they gave us blankets and actually put them on us. The service was sooo good. The chef came out to personally greet us and talk to us both times !!!! Now to the food, the food was AHMAZING i don’t even know what to say honestly like everything was amazing. and i mean everything. so were the drinks, especially the homemade lemonade. I wish i could stay here longer just to eat here. They also have live music and it’s sooo calming. I would eat here every single...
