If Michelin stars were handed out for how fancy the menu sounds, Feggera would have more stars than the actual Aegean night sky.
I ordered the Santorinian fava beans, expecting grandma’s humble bean mash. What arrived looked like something painted by Van Gogh: fava, fried capers, eggplant flakes, and—because why not—kumquat and white truffle oil. Beans. With truffle oil. Somewhere a farmer in Santorini shed a single tear of pride.
The slow-cooked rooster tart? Let me tell you, never in my life have I eaten a rooster dressed better than I was. It came with mint cream cheese, yogurt mousse, and what I can only describe as an edible cologne. I half expected the tart to stand up and start singing opera.
Seafood fans, prepare yourself: the shrimp ceviche with quinoa and smoked mussels had so many ingredients I thought I was reading a Netflix series cast list. Quinoa, basil oil, lime, smoked mussels—it was basically an Avengers crossover on a plate, except tastier and with less CGI.
And then there was the T-Bone 20 days aged. I don’t know what this cow was eating in its final 20 days, but I’m pretty sure it was spa treatments and poetry. Tender, juicy, confit tomatoes lounging around like they were on vacation in Santorini themselves. Worth every euro and every second of my shortened lifespan.
Dessert? Forget it. After this menu, you don’t need dessert. You just lean back, sip your wine, and accept that you’ve peaked in life.
Come here hungry, leave here convinced you could start using words like “infused,” “reduction,” and “botargo” in daily...
Read moreThe night before we passed by this rooftop restaurant and knew we had to come back! We drove to a nearby parking area as this is in a traditional village which makes car travel not very practical through the narrow streets. We had easily made a reservation through their website but didn’t need it since it was o my 5 pm and restaurants are typically more busy during sunset and after. The waiter was very kind and brought us still bottled water upon our arrival. This was not complementary but we never expect bottled water to be free and we also read a review that indicated they do it this way. We ordered bread as an appetizer and also receive olive oil and sea salt olives. The sea salt olives were homemade and our waiter explained they pick the olives pack them in sea salt for a year and serve them. We were pleased with the unique taste and texture. Our meals were fantastic with my duck meal cooked perfectly and my wife’s pasta in cream sauce presented perfectly. We even got a complementary dessert shot at the end of our meal. The ambiance of the restaurant felt great and the smooth curved lines of the building and vivid colors made for a fun rooftop lookout where we could catch glimpses of the sea. As we left there were beautiful flowers growing all around the trees that made for great photographs. We stopped in the restrooms on the way out and were pleased with the cleanliness. Great experience and we finished with a nice stroll through the...
Read moreMy husband and I tried this restaurant for dinner one night, and were very disappointed. The restaurant definitely has a nice ambience created by their decor and a rooftop terrace setting. The menu offers traditional Greek appetizers, and Italian entrées. We ordered the zucchini flowers and five a bean dip for appetizers and the shrimp risotto for the main entrée. We really liked the zucchini flowers, and disliked everything else. We found the quality of food and the flavor profile to be lacking. The shrimp risotto had an odd after taste. The worst part was that we were charged for items that we were served but did not request. Specifically, after we placed our order, they served us a large bottle of water and a bread basket. Because we did not order these and because the waiter simply placed them on our table without asking if we would like either item, we assumed they were complimentary as is customary in many restaurants while you are waiting for your order to arrive. So, we were surprised to find that we were charged for these items in our final bill. When eating here, know that you are really paying for the atmosphere and not for quality food. We much preferred the service and meals we ate at a neighboring family restaurant...
