Best meal we ate on our 10 day holiday in Milos and Paros. Most of the "recommended and well reviewed" restaurants we visited across both islands with advice from our airbnb hosts and gastronomy blogs were all the same, average, and unexciting - albeit demonstrating decent home cooking with simple and safe flavours with occasional traditional dishes. We found the opposite at rema floga which I found by chance when searching for a restaurant off the beaten track in Parikia away from the tourist hot spots. Tucked away in the background streets of trendy Parikia is a beautiful space with an open kitchen indoors and lovely atmosphere. Chefs display exceptional culinary skill in both cooking and balancing flavours, small yet diverse sharing plate menu with choices for all diets (small always best in my opinion, especially compared to the vast menus everywhere else!). The mackerel savaro was a highlight - followed by the meat pie with aubergine and yoghurt. Fire roasted carrots with pistachio pesto also delicious. Desserts are often a let down at many restaurants but the lemon tart we had was mouth puckering and perfectly balanced with yoghurt cream and house made ice cream made from organic Greek milk. It beat the still delicious fig tart hands down. As a chef specialising in pastry I really appreciate high quality desserts . Excellent service from wait staff with good knowledge across the board including wine. Having only opened in May 2025 the restaurant was at least 80% full on a Saturday night - we booked in advance and I recommend you do so. My only criticism is the lack of low sugar soft drinks and non alcoholic options which seems a common trend across most Greek food establishments. Value for money is good too, spending only a fraction more than previous meals on the island with food that is in the league far above seems crazy! (€100 for 2 including dessert and a glass of wine) Highly recommend and would return (seriously considering coming back before we leave to eat the rest of the menu!) thank you for an...
Read moreCame here June 6 2025 on a whim since we were looking for a dinner away from the touristy port area restaurants. Found out this place just opened 2-3 weeks ago so they’re new on the block. Easy access from the road and seating is mainly outdoor terrace with a few seats inside. The menu is seasonal with local veggies or seafood and cheese/yogurt forward, so bring your Lactaid if you’re lactose intolerant. Menu features dishes mainly for sharing with a focus on traditional local Greek cuisine with a modern creative twist, which I feel like they pull off well. I got 4 dishes and a dessert and that was enough to be full. The host and waiters were professional and hospitable, even providing a complimentary fruit dessert. Very clean chic vibe. The cherry tomatoes dish with cheese and fruits was refreshing and the cheese is light and fragrant, a fresh starter dish. The raw amberjack with strawberries and vinegar was basically a ceviche and well balanced. The shrimps in the oven with cheese was delicious and well seasoned without being too salty. If you love each saucey dip with bread, order a starter of bread to make good use of the sauce. The local green on the grills was delicious and well seasoned without and paired well with the eggs. The dessert tart with lemon and yogurt refreshing too. Great dinner spot and would recommend to anyone. Also...
Read moreWe were thinking of heading to Naoussa for dinner at a spot we saw on TikTok, but decided to stay closer to our bnb in Parikia. And boy am I GLAD we did. This was light fare, but still packed with amazing spices and flavor (perfectly savory and acidic). Everything we wanted out of Greek cuisine. We’ve been traveling around Europe for three weeks, and this was one of the best meals we’ve had. Btw - we ended up going to Naoussa the next day for that TikTok restaurant - it was underwhelming food (great views), but this place blows it out of the water.
The vibe is low key - some locals, some tourists, but nothing is overdone. You can see into the open kitchen space, and it is beautiful. The restaurant has clean aesthetic, where a little bit rustic meets a little bit modern. The food was incredible, the service was great and personable. We chatted with our waiter and learned the menu changes daily with what is available at the local market, so the food is super fresh.
It’s just a tiny bit outside of the main tourist streets of Parikia, and well worth the walk (but note we went through some darker streets, so, as a woman, I wouldn’t walk alone).
Cannot miss the meatballs, the tomatoes, the zucchinis, the figs.
