What can I say, great Greek food at its best, and by far the best in all the years of travelling to Greece. I'm WFPB / Vegan and it was so easy to get what I've been hanging out for since arriving in Kefalonia - simple, delicious, nutritious food. I wish other restaurants would do the sane, esoeciadlly in Skala where I stayed, whilst they made a real effort to accommodate a vegan diet - lots of places have vegan menus which is wonderful - if you're like ne and interested in healthy eating then you don't want processed burgers, just fresh vegetables, something I'd been struggling with up until now. I was seriously having out for a bowl of greens, and so happy to finally find some Horta on a menu! a FYI we ordered (excuse the typos) : Horta with courgettes, skordhalia, black eye bean salad, stuffed tomato and pepper, aubergine dip, and my husband some frilled sardines. There was a bounty of food. Excellent service and price, amazing location - right on the sea front. I was completely in my happy place. Thank...

The sunset changes the colours in the sky by the minute and can leave you entranced. The service is brisk and hectic. The biggest downer was that we got there at 820pm and our first dish (bread and butter with tsatziki) came at 940pm. Its hard to believe it but its true. We waited 1.20hrs for just bread and water. With kids it can be quite difficult, and we had 2 very hungry kids. So, I recommend you get there by 730pm to eat by 830pm. The food is pricey (9euros for salad, 15 for the braised beef etc), but quantities are good. I would go back there just for the ambience. Next door Deco seemed to be nice as well, and if it less busier then might be worth a try as I am fairly sure food will be similar. We ordered souvlakis, chicken in lemon sauce,...
Read moreYou know that restaurant when you think about it and you immediately start salivating remembering the extraordinary good food you had there? That's Karnagio for me. There I ate the greatest fish I had so far. It wasn't the fish (a fresh sea bass tastes like a sea bass) but the delicious lemon - oregano - olive oil - salt dressing the fish had on top. It was perfect! The greek salad, fried potatos and everything we ordered was fresh and made with local ingredients and greek love. And the vibe of the place: blue chairs and table, set directly on the sand near the sea, under some ancient trees, with natural shade, sea breeze, flowers and cats. The epitome of a Greek taverna. You can park right on the road in front of the restaurant. So I definitely recommend...
