Perhaps bad mixture of events was the reason of giving this poor rating, or maybe just poor restaurant management. As a start we were given a table with very poor light. To be specific, only one of three bulbs above was working (not to mention that all other tables had candles, except for ours). The staff was very polite, yet kind of lost. They wasn't sure which table is ours, although there wasn't any other table prepared for eight people exept for one. They kept followimg nonsense rules that don't apply to the current situation, like - we must take your plates after you are done with apetizers and put a set of new ones, only to pick them up unused when bringing the main course in a new separate.plate. Strangely not noticing empty glasses being on the table for an hour or so. Not very impressed by the food to be honest. Don't go there if you want to taste Greece. It's more kind of a European gourmet attempt, as in not bad but for example most of the dishes we had were way too salty. About the beverages... well, strictly for wine lovers. No gteek ouzo (out of it, they said). Only one kind of 0.5 beer - the promo one brand in Skiathos - Eza. Like restaurants prefer it because it's the cheapest or they get...
Read moreMy partner and I came to Exantas at the recommendation of the owner of Plakes, who couldn’t seat us as they were full. Thank goodness they were! This was the most gorgeous dinner I’ve had in a very long time. Serving Greek food with modern and innovative twists, this meal was a delight from start to finish. We stayed simple, with delicious house wine (although the list is incredibly extensive) and mainly classic dishes, including the Greek salad, tzatziki, meatballs, and a delicious modernised Pastitsio. Everything that went in our mouths was unbelievable (baklava and bread & pine needle olive oil also a MUST) The atmosphere and setting was also incredible, with stunning views, crockery, and lighting (we were obsessed with the cheese grater and washing machine drum light shades). Maria and her team are angels - they were so friendly, informative and charming and made us feel like family. We had chats and laughs, and even though the food was incredible, they made the experience 100x better. I very rarely write reviews but I couldn’t not with this place. I couldn’t recommend it more if I tried. A very special...
Read moreBeautiful location. Right on the beach. Easily accessible from the back road or the beach. We went for dinner. Celebrated a birthday. We ordered a starter and a main each. The portions were right. The presentation of the plates is stunning. Lot of attention to the details. Interesting flavours for both the seafood and the meet dishes. Book in advance if you want a table facing the beach. The staff was friendly but a bit unprepared. They served a beef with 3/4 of foam. And they left some of the glasses we used for the aperol on the tables for a long time before removing them. I’d recommend it for a date night or a dinner with friends. The cocktails were good and I liked the fact that you can see how they cook and prepare the dishes as the...
