Don’t go - they disrespect food allergies and their behaviour is disgusting. I walked in this quaint little garden. A lady came over for the order. I asked her specifically if the salad had rocket leaves as I am allergic, she didn’t seem to care and said ‘whatever the menu description is’ which by the way DID NOT mention rocket so I repeated the question to be sure and she said if not in the menu then not in the salad. The salad arrives I give a careful look prior to trying and yes rocket leaves are all over the plate. I ask for the tavern owner to come over, he apologised and at the same time he said ‘well it is ok no big deal’. This is where I had to explain that it’s not ok and that this is a rather big deal as you can send one to death. He tried to defend himself with an absurd impertinent attitude. The ‘lady’ came back and instead of apologising she accused me of not telling her I am allergic and just telling her that I simply don’t like rocket. I tied to remain calm. Main courses arrived. My partner’s stake was not too bad but nothing special however the chips were indeed homemade. My rib eye was just bad and served with frozen chips. We finished quickly as the atmosphere was rather unpleasant as the lady was going up and down giving us bad looks. Despite I said to the owner that she should have come out and apologise I was neglected as he didn’t make a move and she of course didn’t even said goodbye. The owner just got 10 euros from the bill which is another indication that some people just shouldn’t be doing this job. Thank god I did not end up to a hospital. So just don’t go. The island is full of lovely places, don’t put yourself at risk and don’t...
Read moreThe food was outstanding.
The lamb ribs were crispy and slightly charred on the outside and succulent on the inside. Served with perfect hand cut chips, a light shredded salad and a garlicky tzatziki. A well balanced meal with great flavour.
The penne napolitana's sauce was mashed to a semi pesto consistency, which coated the pasta perfectly and was rich with flavours of roast red peppers and onions, tomatoes and garlic. The dish was laced with halved cherry tomatoes and parsley. A superb pasta dish.
The orzo pasta with shrimps and cream "cheese balls" was one of the best plates of food I have eaten - not just in Skiathos, but anywhere. Rich tomato, garlic and peppers with the slightest kick of warm spice, laced with large succulent shrimps (some in the shell, some without) and topped with a garlicky cream cheese that could be stirred in or left, according to taste. I won't forget this pasta dish for a long time and will be trying to recreate it at home for even longer.
Oh, and the restaurant was bustling, vibrant and full.
Four VERY...
Read more(Edit) (Reply:) I cannot just tell the waiter that I don't like this dish or that and expect what? A new dish in another 40 minute wait? Thank you. Also, another thing to consider is this: Please don't charge €2/person for a MANDATORY "cover charge" of a few bread buns + 2 olives and 1 knifespread of butter per person. If you were old school like you say, this would be on the house while your hungry customers wait 30mins+ for their food. Have a good day!
A VERY LOOOONG wait for our food. Tables that were seated after us got their orders way ahead :-/ Beef stew was dry and very chewy. Mousaka was also below average, unfortunately. Altogether, not a very...
