Alexandra's — Restaurant in Thassos Municipality

Biggest dissapointment on Thassos! We have been eyeing the place since we got on the island, because it looked really nice and there was live music every night, but it turned out to be the worst taverna we ate at in Thassos.

I will, however, take note of the good parts too: the atmosphere is indeed really memorable. The music was good, everyone danced, everyone was excited -the cats running around the tables and playing with us was a really nice touch, we adored them

But that's about it with the good parts. On the other hand: -we had a reservation, arrived 10 minutes earlier and were told that one of the collegues gave our table away to someone else, but we could wait until one table eventually was available. We waited for about 15 minutes and we were finally offered a table -the table service was non-existent. We waited for 15-20 mins until someone took our order, we asked for an ashtray that we never received (my boyfriend evetually picked it up himself), we waited for our food for a really long time (and we got our plates separately, i got my pasta 10 minutes before my boyfriend's souvlaki) -the food really isn't anything special. It isn't bad, it's okay, but given that it's a bit more pricier than other tavernas on the island, you can eat a lot better at other restaurants/tavernas (the bread was also the only stale bread we received on the island on our whole stay)

Overall, really not worth all the attention they are receiving. I don't recommend it. It might only be worth your time if you want to listen to the music...

I waited around 40–50 minutes for a portion of souvlaki, which was already frustrating. But what made it even worse was the unwelcome surprise in my meal – a bug, which I believe was a cockroach, was sitting right in my food.

I immediately took a picture and showed it to the waiter as soon as he came to the table. His reaction? He simply said, “It probably flew in from the kitchen – there’s nothing we can do about it.” That was the end of the discussion.

To be fair, the ambience of the restaurant is actually quite nice, but the service and kitchen hygiene are absolutely unacceptable. I will definitely not be coming back, and I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone.

Update after restaurant’s response:

The restaurant has replied accusing me of lying. Just to clarify: • We were not informed about any kitchen delays at any point. • The waiter claimed the insect fell from a tree above our table, which is hard to believe, considering it crawled out from under the fries served with the souvlaki. • Both I and my girlfriend saw it come out of the food, not from the table or the surroundings.

Also, I don’t think cockroaches live in trees — they’re more commonly found in unsanitary kitchen environments.

I stand by my experience. I have a photo of the incident and shared it with the staff at the time. It’s truly disappointing that instead of acknowledging the issue, they chose to shift blame and call...

We made a reservation for a specific table two days in advance. When we arrived they gave us another table on a very bad spot, although we explicitly asked for the table we wanted. The very rude waiters said we would have to wait at another table and he would tell when we could sit at another table. After 15 minutes he said we had to stand up and go to the other table. The problem was that all the filthy plates and food from the previous guests where still on this table. After waiting for almost 10 minutes standing beside this table, nobody came to clean this up. We decided to leave and go to another restaurant. The personel are very rude, do not care about your reservation. Afterwards we read the reviews of this restaurant and were very happy that we did no eat at this place.

There are much much better restaurants for much better prices in Limenas. Stay away from this place, it is not worth the headache.

Update : reaction to the ridiculous reaction of the owner : instead of calling me a lier, stop being rude to people. I have everything recorded so I will put it on youtube for everyone too find out for themselves. You cannot treat customers like this. Very bad business practices, and there are a lot more customers which experienced the same rudeness. Goodbye and see you...
