If you have any type of allergens or you wish to get proper service, do not come here.
I provided a coeliac card to the waiter before placing my order (Greek salad) and additionally explained to her I can’t eat any bread or wheat or anything similar or items containing these, or otherwise I’d get sick. She confirmed there’s no gluten in the salad. Finally, after a long wait we get our meals (my partner ordered a standard hamburger). The Greek salad was modified, but to our surprise from the bottom of the salad we find something. My partner tries the something and confirms it tastes like wheat to him. When asking about it from the same waiter who I placed the order with, she says “it’s not bread, it’s a cracker”.
The manager tries to fix the situation, but she doesn’t seem to understand allergens or what is in the food that’s served and tries to persist it’s carab, however, carab does not come in a shape or taste of a piece of bread (or even if so, shouldn’t cause to have a coeliac reaction, as I do at the time of writing despite the restaurants best efforts to convince me it’s GF). The restaurant did only the least they could do which was not to charge for the salad, but still pursued to charge for the drinks and my partners food. If one is not familiar with coeliac disease, it’s an autoimmune disease that has a long list of symptoms that will ruin your holiday and takes weeks to fully recover from - not something that’s desired when you’re on your birthday trip.
Considering the image the restaurant serves, I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone who has any types of allergens.
Additionally, if you do not have any allergens, I wouldn’t recommend for this place for their service either. They picked someone from the queue to the tables before us, and didn’t seem to think anything of it. After asking where our drinks are (seeing someone else who came after us but got their drinks first), the waiter says they’re busy tonight - however, the restaurant wasn’t full to their capacity. Additionally, the burger that was served to my partner had gone cold and wasn’t worth the price.
The only reason this place is worth the visit, is for the view, but even for that you can go to the beach or do yourself a favour and visit...
Read moreSolesea is without doubt a perfect gem of an oasis, just off the main road in Argassi opposit the Magic club. I felt the warmth of atmosphere as soon as I walked into Solesea, no detail has been lost in this wonderful setting by the sea, the backdrop of Zante town with the purple hued Kefalonia in the distance set the mood for the evening to come. To night was 'Greek night' having been to many I had an idea what to expect, however, the energetic lovely couple dancing made a show worth remembering. As the evening drew on guests were soon joining in the fun, young and old(ish) readily lost their shyness and put on a grand show. After an unusual firedance the grand finale was a real free for all, guests were given plates to smash in the center of the floor (don't try this at home) which they did with gusto. I think I can honestly say a great evening was had by all. Solesea has various evening summer events including, live bands, a saxophone night, and a piano night ( I may give that one a miss as a romantic evening on my own is a bit difficult). There is a varied menu avaiable in the day and evening for those needing a few hours far from the maddening crowds in exclusive beautiful...
Read moreThis is a rip-off place. They want to change you regardless if you eat/drink/smoke as long as you pay... Avoid this place, especially so many other choices, a few steps away....scumbag.
Amazing, showing true colour of the owner attitude with that response. having a bodyguard surrounding family with kids for 10 eur is very polite too.. we didn't refuse to pay, we asked your bar manager nicely to show me a receipt for parking payment she brought a food bill shouting you have pay and will call security (in this manor and attitude) threatening to escalate it..than you showed up made it worse. You need to learn customer service and teach your staff not to shout and have manors. Not everything is...
