Red wine has been my favorite place in Zakynthos for sure! I went there twice in 4 days, once i had the fish platter mix and once the Lamb Kleftiko. The fish came as a generous portion, very nicely cooked and was absolutely delicious. But the Lamb? Extraordinary. Juicy, tender, perfrctly spiced, served with veggies and melted feta cheese. 10/10. it has been the only meal in Zakynthos i(M/195CM) haven‘t been able to completely finish. The amount of meat is crazy, biggest (and probably tastiest) serving of lamb i ever received in a restaurant. My girlfriend whom is plantbased had the „Briam“ a delicious veggie stew that comes with garlic bread. Overall the food had a very „homey“ taste. If you want to try authentic Greek Cuisine, this is for sure the place. They also offer a wide array of traditional starters, such as Dolmades, Tzatziki, etc. Desert-wise we only tried the Baklava which was good: sweet and juicy, served with some whipped cream. Can’t really wish for more. You can also add icecream on any of the desserts for 1€. If you go there, do yourself a favour and try the housewine, aprox. 5.5€ for 1/2 liters. It‘s a regular price in Zakynthos, but i found the White housewine to be my favourite out of those i tried while there. In the end we ofcourse received the complementary shot of ouzo on the house. Prices are highly advantageous, given the portion size and excelent taste. Mains range from aprox. 10€ to 20€, giving you a good bang for your buck. The restaurant is family owned, and we quickly became friends with the owners and employees. They were by far and uncontested friendliest people we met in Zakynthos, always greeting you with a smile, giving great recommendations, and always happy to have little talks there and there. It was the place that made us feel most welcomed and happy to be there. Excelent service. This is my take on the Red Wine Restaurant, 10/10 for me. Try it out, i promise you...
Read moreWorst meal we had during our 10 day holiday. Sorry to say the main course seemed as though it had been cooked some time previously & kept under a heat lamp or something. Moussaka was horrible & the accompanying dish had pasta that was concealed & tasteless. When the waitress collected the dishes she pulled a face because I’d left a lot, I made out I was full rather than comment about it. She told me ‘you’re like someone who orders fish but doesn’t like fish!’. I actually love Greek food & ate in several wonderful restaurants- this just wasn’t one of them & to try & blame the customer for not enjoying the food was uncalled for & blatantly rude. Try Zorbas, Ethnic or Gusto - all had superb food, great service & far superior.. I see below they try to say I’m mistaken because I gave a poor review- no I’m afraid your food & restaurant stood out for all the wrong reasons. I’ve never had fish re - read...
Read moreInitially visited on 16/7 and found the atmosphere to be incredible and busy. Booked in for our own meal on 17/7. Sat immediately when we arrived with a warm and welcoming smile. Drinks were brought out very quickly and the staff assisted in repositioning the fans to help with airflow to our table (44°on our visit). T-Bone steak was the best on the strip, very generous portion size as you'll see in my picture. Cooked to perfection and side salad a compliment was spot on. In addition to this I had pepper sauce which although more fluid than I'm used to I absolutely loved. My partner had the Chicken Gyros and never been so happy to eat a meal. She asked to return before we left the island which never happens. Highly recommend this restaurant to all visitors to Argassi and to the island. The T-Bone is worth the trip. My only complaint is I don't have a pic of the Chicken Gyros...
