Athena — Restaurant in Zakynthos Municipality

My partner and I enjoyed a wonderful meal here on the final evening of our holiday. We were staying at an all inclusive hotel so we really had no need to eat out but after passing the lovey, friendly staff each evening we decided we wanted to eat there at least once before we left. We opted for the house white wine which was served in a 500ml carafe and was far better than your typical house wine, so good in fact that we ordered a second! We shared a starter of tzatziki and pita which was so good it has left me dying to replicate the recipe!! I opted for a main of calamari which was served with potatoes and salad and my partner opted for the moussaka which staff recommended to him - both of which were beautiful! I would highly recommend visiting this restaurant if you are in the area, as not only is the food a strong 10/10 , but the staff are wonderful and so friendly. We stayed a little longer after our meal so that we could finish our wine and we were not made to feel rushed out which is rare. We got what we thought were complimentry bread rolls before our meal, which we later learnt they weren't without letting us know. Starters were nice but unfortunately the main dishes we ordered came with hard potatoes We sent our food back and we're faced with rudeness and tried charging us,we then asked for the bill and the waiter hadn't taken the mains off,we argued the point that the meal was not cooked properly,the waiter said I will knock 10 euros off as you have eaten some,this was eventually taken off after some argument,terrible customer service and an extremely arrogant waiter,on another note the customer male toilets are the worst I have ever encountered in a restaurant,filthy and didn't look they had been cleaned in days,wish I'd have known this before ordering any food,if this is there hygiene standards,I'm not sure what other areas in the restaurant need looking into,this rates as one of the worst restraunts in the...

We arrived here in the early evening. When walking by one of the servers greeted us and explained to us the menu and their specialties. All the servers were smiling all the time and really nice.

We ordered two cocktails and the Tzatziki starter with a mix grill and the beef stifado. The mix grill was quite nice but not the most excellent meat, just like the stifado. The cocktails were really strong and tasted good.

The atmosphere was okay, the only downside is that it's next to the road.

Bonus: when residing at the Amarylis apartments next to it, you get 20% reduction because of shared ownership.
