Greeted with a smile from all the staff when we arrived. Air-con and a safe are included free of charge, which is rare in Greece. The room/climate tax was due upon check in. Three euros a night and was cash only. They offered to carry our bags up to our room as our studio was located up two flights of stairs. ||I had emailed months before asking if we could pay a fee to keep our room until 4pm on the the day we were due to check out, as our flight wasnât until 8pm and was told it wouldnât be a problem. I asked when we arrived and paid a fee of âŹ40 to keep the room on. A very reasonable amount and very much appreciated; allowed us to enjoy our last day with no rush.||The room was big. Air-con unit was decent. A small TV - couldnât tell you about the channels etc as we never turned it on. Kitchenette had a kettle, toaster, microwave, hob and under-counter fridge/freezer. Basic self catering equipment supplied such as a few glasses, cups, cutlery and cooking essentials. A hairdryer was supplied in the bedroom next to a large mirror. Plenty of plug sockets everywhere including the bathroom. Lots of hangers in the wardrobe, several drawers and counter space. The bathroom had small drawers and a cupboard also. ||Didnât use the hotel facilities/pool as we just use the self catering studio as a base. Had a drink at the poolside one evening and cocktails were good. Friendly staff. ||Would happily stay here again. Good facilities for price paid. ||Pros|- Bins in room changed every day. Beds made every day. Our towels seemed to have been changed every 2-3 days.|- Very central. Cafes, restaurants, bars and a Spar all on the doorstep. |- 15 minute walk to the beach and 15/20 minutes from the airport.||Cons|- Our apartment (222) had limited wi-fi. Could only connect to it if sat on the balcony and even then it would sporadically disconnect. I usually only use my mobile data but it was non-existent (Vodafone) in most of Tsilivi. |- Lots of ants. Balcony, bedroom, bathroom. Iâm aware itâs a hot country and thereâs little the...
Read moreFirst the pros -Location is excellent, just off the main road, so traffic noise isn't overwhelming. The whole place is spotless and there is an army of cleaners on duty all day. The rooms are a decent size with a free safe -locked with a key and quiet air con. The beds are king size and very comfortable, as are the pillows. Bedding and towels are changed on a regular basis. There is a kettle with cups and saucers. There are plenty of 2 pin sockets. Drinks and meals at lunchtime are reasonably priced and served promptly. Peter and Joanna are very friendly and approachable. There is a decent size pool and surrounding area, for the number of rooms that there are. Towels cannot be put down on loungers before 9am, which I think is perfectly reasonable. The pool and sunbeds are for residents only, but the bar is open to the public in the evening. There is a small book exchange in reception.|Secondly the cons - There is hardly any drawer space in the room. It's just the two bedside drawers, so we had to put all our t shirts etc on a high shelf in the wardobe. The shower doesn't have a door, so the bathroom floor gets very wet and you have to wait for the water to drain away. There is no shelf for any toiletries. Luckily my toilet bag had handles, so could be hung on the hook on the wall. Cups and saucers are not wahed, neither are the plastic water glasses replaced. Breakfast is adequate but needs to be better for a 4 * hotel. We paid 10 Euros a night tourist tax for the 1st and 2nd week in July.|If you're comparing this hotel to the standard of 4 * hotels in Spain/Italy/Turkey, then it's more like a 3*. Did we enjoy our stay? Overall it was fabulous and if we went to tsilivi again, then this is...
Read moreThis hotel is absolutely not family-friendly. We were constantly told to âkeep the children quietâ and that they couldnât splash or get water by the side of the pool. Apparently another family were told the same thing about their son, so it wasnât just us. In the end, we had to pay to use other hotelsâ pools so the children could enjoy themselves, and the hotelâs response to this was simply, âwe didnât make you go.â ||When we raised our concerns with reception and the owner, we found them dismissive and unhelpful. The owner, who weâve spoken English with in past years, suddenly âcouldnât speak Englishâ and we were told to speak with our Jet2 rep instead of dealing with the issues.||We were also told where we could sit around the pool and that we had to sit together as a group (despite booking separately) meaning if some of us wanted to sit in the sun whilst others were in the shade this was not allowed. The whole attitude felt controlling and unwelcoming. According to the hotel receptionist they are going adults-only next year, which made us feel like they were pushing families out to please their adult regulars.||To make matters worse, although the hotel is advertised as a 3â on Jet2, we were charged the government tax rate for a 4â hotel. Other customers should be aware of this before booking.||My husband and I have been regulars here for the past 10 years visiting every year, but after this experience they have now lost us as customers for good.||As a family of 4 adults and 2 children, we spent over ÂŁ5k to come to this hotel to not be able to use the facilities which was very disappointing and a complete waste of money. ||If you are travelling with children, avoid this hotel...
