We have just arrived home from 15 wonderful nights in Tsilivi ... NO THANKS AT ALL TO THE OWNER OF MAVRIAS VILLAGE. As seasoned visitors to Tsilivi, we were ok, but it could've been very different. ||We were planning on holidaying with our friends and had booked 2 apartments. They had a confirmation, we didn't, so 2 weeks before, my other half phoned and spoke to the owner who said the room was booked and paid for, and he confirmed this by email. ||On arrival, there was no room! Yes, he had our money, yes he remembered the phone call, and yes he remembered the email that we had a copy of. ||To cut a long story short, there was no apology, it "wasn't his problem" and "wasn't his fault" as he told us many times. It sure as hell wasn't ours! He blamed it on his booking service .... which means you can't rely on your confirmation! APPALLING CUSTOMER SERVICE. ||Eventually he transferred the money back to our account (took 4 days to go through). When I asked for a copy of the transfer, we then discovered he had CHARGED US THE BANK FEES! So, we paid the fees to send it in the first place, lost money as the exchange rate dropped and then we had to pay to get OUR money back! HIS MISTAKE COST US AROUND 80-100€.||We were very stressed and we lost our first day trying to find a roof to go over our heads. Our friends were stuck there as rooms were hard to find and their booking had gone through. This error totally changed the flow of our holiday as we ended up in different parts of the town. ||Mistakes happen, and we are reasonable people, but own them. It was YOUR error NOT ours. An apology and a full refund would've helped a difficult situation. ||I would avoid this establishment at all costs and if you have a booking...

My first visit to Zakynthos and it will not be my last.|On arrival we had a big welcome from the owner and we continued to see him every day throughout our 10 night stay. The apartment was the anex loft conversion booked via booking.com. it was very spacious, modern and clean. It was cleaned everyday and towels changed every other day. Our chambermaid was lovely and always greeted us with a friendly "Yasso" . The WiFi was really strong in the apartment and on the complex. In fairness throughout the resort we found wifi connections excellent where ever we went. The apartment was well equipped with a full electric oven and hob, fridge freezer and microwave. Bathroom was a decent size and had its own washing machine with tablets too |There is no pool on the complex but you can use the pool at the Princess Hotel. We didn't bother but used the garden area with loungers and tables. We went to the pool at the Paradise Bar which was fantastic. The beachfront is about a 10 min walk away with plenty of space|Wonderful place, great location to everything in Tsilivi.|We also hired a car for 3 days during our stay from Zante Cars around the corner. Read moreWe have recently returned from 15 days ||Accommodation good no complaints ||Just a good job we are accomplished travellers to tsilivi ||Booked our room on the Mavrias web site seemed simple enough checked availability chose room type paid deposit by bank card confirmation received||Our friends did exactly the same procedure paying by bank transfer NO confirmation received they telephoned and spoke to owner who stated he’d received full amount and the room was booked ||So we were all excited to be heading off for our holiday ||On arrival only our room booked ||No room at the inn for our friends ||Owner confirmed he’d receive the money for the booking and that he’d spoken and sent confirmation e mail blamed booking system wasn’t his fault became very rude unhelpful if first experience of being in Greece your thoughts would of been what unhelpful people they are ||Luckily our friends found a room with help from other local people who have become friends over the many years travelling to Tsilivi ||their money was refunded four days later but he’d charged them the bank transfer fee ! ||It spoilt the dynamic of the holiday as we were no longer together ||Be very wary when booking direct with this company as you may end up in the same situation with no travel company to back you up and no help to find other...
