Tásos — Restaurant in Zakynthos Municipality

If I could give it a zero star I would, I feel our evening was robbed from us. The night started out with an over zealous man, soliciting us to sit down. After looking over the menu, we obliged. We saw some things that sounded really good to us.

We sat down at a table by the edge of the deck, immediately consumed with small "nat like" bugs. I started to kill them and stack them on the table, it was so bad, I started to give them names. Rest in peace (John, Jeremy, and Jose) as the nats started to settle in for our dinner we pushed forward with out night.

We ordered a bottle of water, and our food. We both were very interested in the Seafood Risotto, we have been in Greece for a while now and felt like something different. I figured, "Were pretty close to Italy, it has to be good here. MAN were we mistaken, let me describe our meal for you.

The surface, VERY presentable, it was a pretty construction I will give them that. I started to look closer and it started to throw a few red flags. Risotto is suppose to be creamy, something that blends with the sauce of choice. This dish however was closer to what id describe as "instant rice" with a flavorless mush of canned smash tomatoes. The rice was very undercooked, the shrimp/prawns were frozen and by the taste of them, they had been frozen for a REALLY LONG TIME. Which is very disappointing from a beach front restaurant with access to fresh seafood just steps from their establishment. I mentioned this to the waiter, as i felt no one should have to go through the disgust I endured. After 1 small bite to give it an honest taste, i put my spoon down asked for the bill which I was charged fully for a plate of goo, mixed with sad feelings of a restaurant whom has given up. I wouldn't wish this experience on anyone looking to have a great dinner with their wife. So here is am, eating chips with my wife, writing a review to save us all from the culinary shambles that is Tasos Tavern

Avoid at all costs!!! The food was alright for the price however the customer service is none existent. While eating our meal another table had warned us they had extra charges added for things like napkins, which was already ridiculous. We were waiting for 10 mins for our plates to be cleared and the bill before the lights went out (all okay things like this happen, it can’t be helped). We were then ignored by staff for a further 10 minutes, no apology or explanation. After FINALLY being served we were told they could only do cash payments and they would try and print a bill (understandable) we then heard nothing back for 10 minutes when another male waiter told us it would be fixed in a few minutes. After 40 minutes of waiting at the table, no complimentary drinks of course, we finally went up to complain. We had enough cash to cover 80% of the meal (we originally planned on paying card) and thought this was fair given we we’re essentially held hostage for an hour. After explaining the service we had received to what I believe was a manager the waiter was called over. The waiter was then aggressive and got in my face when we just wanted to pay and leave.

We completely understand there was nothing that could be done about the power outage. But the communication to customers is really what left us disgusted and disappointed. I have never met such rude, unhelpful and downright unprofessional staff. Do not eat here even if it’s the last...

The worst experience of my life😰😰😰 extremely rude staff and racist. I felt humiliated and I couldn’t enjoy my dinner neither I neither my friends. I’ve asked about fresh fish( calamari) and the waiter proposed me some fried calamari, I’ve expressed my preference for grilled fish. The waiter said “ where are you from, I can hear from your accent that you are not Italian!”( as a few other friends of mine at the same table) I’ve replied “ I’m from Romania” his reaction….” What you Romanians understand about fresh fish????” And I’ve thought that my be a bag joke…but no …he carried on with bag comments until if lost myself and I said “ look I’ve came here to have a nice dinner not to be humiliated “ He bring a carafe with wine(6€ value )to try to risolve. Rest of the night went bad too, food non fresh as all, waiters talking bad about guests around in between the tables, other bad jokes at the desert moment because 2 of my friends ordered in english and not in Italian. I’ve thought that was only that waiter but unfortunately everyone else who came at our table was rude. We were shocked 😳….in the end the owner took our payment and one of my friends tell him that the calamari was impossible to eat ….his question?!?!?!?! “ where are you from ?” 😰😰😰😰😰 that was our last dinner on the island and that place make us to feel uncomfortable and humiliated. Very very bad experience! None of us had any similar issues in our lives...
