PAINFUL! Myself and my 5 other friends visited Zante, staying at Esperia Hotel, bed and breakfast. We are a group of young girls, visiting Zante to be on the strip and have a girls holiday. We were not expecting it to be a luxurious holiday in the slightest, however, we had been there only 24 hours before everything started to go wrong. Firstly was asked to give a €50 deposit each on arrival, which we were originally unaware of. Our room had no door on the shower as it had been broken previously and subsequently was flooding the bathroom, making it slippy and dangerous, but also getting underneath tiles which we were concerned about damp. We brought this to the receptionists attention who told us there is nothing they do. THE POOL AREA: my friend ordered a Malibu and coke to receive a coconut flavouring syrup and coke. When we asked to see the bottle, the bar lady said no, and later on we seen her using a syrup for others. I then was hungover and though to have a nice relax by the pool however I was approached by the staff shouting at me for sleeping by the pool and I needed to get up and party?????!!?! It was extremely uncomfortable there as I then felt on edge to relax, meaning we never went back to our pool and instead used another hotel not far who were lovely and let us relax! My 2 blonde friend had a swim in the pool which had turned green! the levels of chlorine in the pool had turned their green fluorescent green (I will attach photos to this message). From past experience of working at a pool, I believe there was unsafe levels of chlorine in the pool, which has resulted in damaged hair. The worst thing about this is that my 2 friends weren’t the only people, there were 2 other girls in which we had permission to take photos of their hair too. Many other girls round the pool also had the same experience. When we confronted the receptionist and bar staff about it, they said that they have a litre bottle of ketchup behind the bar as it happens often!!! I then had 2 distraught friends, ruined hair, and a lot of money spent on things to try and resolve it. Not only that, they are now having to spend £100’s on their hair to fix the mess. My friend then had a shock from the hairdryer which electrocuted her hand and tripped the whole rooms electric, leaving them without power for 2 hours. As you can imagine, this is all in our first day, so we were very upset by the end of the day and all just wanted to go home. We were told it was out own fault going in the pool and getting our hair green, that it was our fault that our friend got electrocuted by the hair dryer as we had ‘got it wet’, even though it’s in the bathroom next to the sink. We were told that the technician was a manager, but was not, and we were told that we were drinking alcohol, but it was actually flavoured syrup! We...
Read moreRooms & Facilities Ensuite Rooms are sizeable, with Balcony👌. Good condition, a few bits need refreshing but nothing urgent. Room Cleaning: Rooms are attended every day but I cannot praise the cleaning as it's really half a cleaning endeavour: bathroom basin, taps and mirror were not cleaned and even the hand towels were not straightened on the towel rails. The bath towels that we left on the bathroom floor( which is normally the case if you want them replaced) were just folded up and placed on the made-up beds🤔. So the next morning, I left them, partially damp, on the bathroom floor and we then got fresh towels. Result!😆Colour and quality of the towels are questionable.New towels are definitely needed at Esperia. Extras in Room. TV, Mini fridge, hair dryer, Towels, Toilet paper, soap.
Extra Costs: 10 Euros per night - Air Con 50 Euros - deposit, refundable on check out 1.50 Euros per day - hotel tax
Not Available in the Rooms: No WIFI. (definitely a good thing) 2 No Kettle, so no teas & coffees ( too hot for it anyway) No Air Con( unless you pay 10 Euro per day throughout your stay) we declined 😞 as we were not planning on spending much time in the rooms.🤪

Read moreDon’t stay here unless you’re aged 18-21 and just want to party. Booked this last minute trip with my 15year old son. We had a twin room. Staff were ok, nice enough. Room was grubby. Bathroom had black mould on bottom of shower tray and the back of the bathroom door looked like it had never been cleaned. We had room 113 which had a balcony overlooking an indoor courtyard so basically no view. Also above the kitchen so food smells and noise too. We didn’t use the balcony once. I’ve never stayed in a hotel that didn’t have a ‘do not disturb’ sign before meaning the cleaners can knock on your door from 10am to try and clean your room, won’t take no for an answer and will clean around you if possible which was awkward. Rest of room basic but ok. We were at the end of a corridor, but it was so noisy it made it difficult to sleep. Doors banging and people shouting all night, and what sounded like furniture being dragged around. Had to put white noise on my phone to try to drown it out. Breakfast was poor, we only bothered on first and last day. Basically consisted of cold scrambled eggs, hot dog sausages, beans and mushrooms or an overcooked boiled egg. There was one type of cheese, one type of salami. A plate of chopped up watermelon, cereal and yoghurt. There was a sign for bacon but we didn’t see any! Very disappointing and was ready to leave by 3rd day. The area itself despite being on ‘the strip’ was mostly ok, but would not recommend or...
