Monoloco Antigua — Restaurant in Sacatepéquez

After spending a bit of time travelling in Guatemala or even other areas of Central America on the cheap and the street food has good a little old, a bit tired of corn tortillas, or just want to have some confidence in receiving what you order - this is the place to come! It has a nicely westernized international menu and typical American style dishes. The portions are of good size and the prices are reasonable. So I went with a buddy of mine to have a few beers. I ended up ordering a bucket of Gallo beer. The price was fine but that upset me was that our waiter never came back to check on us. I wanted to order food or more drinks but they never asked. Finally I flat down someone that works there to ask for the bill. When they bring me the bill they added 10% gratuity. For what? Bring me a bucket? Never asking if I wanted anything else? I ended up talking it over with my buddy and at that point the waiter wouldn’t even leave our side. It's a great place where you have good food for a good price. Right in the heart of Antigua and for sure one of the better restaurants in the area. It's a bit dark what gives the feeling of an Irish pub. What for me is a good thing, the only minus is they don't have Guinness but than again I diddn't find it anywhere in Guatemala. They do have a Belgian beer, Stella Artois and one from Holland. Downstairs you will find a little store as well where you can buy T-shirts and some other things from the restaurant, off course with the monkey logo. If I'm ever in Antigua again I won't hesitate to go back...
