San Martín Antigua Guatemala — Restaurant in Sacatepéquez

I went here on my first morning in Antigua, hoping to taste some of the local cuisine, and this restaurant did not disappoint. They offer traditional and Americanized breakfasts. Super affordable, as your breakfast comes with a bread basket, a glass of juice (slight upcharge for jumbo size), and coffee or tea. There is an attached bakery so after breakfast you can take some of your favorite treats to go. I recommend the chicken empanada, muffins, and banana bread, for when you feel peckish in the afternoon.

Breadwise, their bakery has good bread. They make the best champurradas integrales I've tasted. Recommended.

Restaurant: the food was okay. Tasted good, but wasn't too special. Their Aperol Spritz was on point.

There are a lot of seating options both indoors and outdoors. However, it gets too crowded, not the atmosphere for everyone. The place is very beautiful with many plants.

When it comes to dinning in, the service left a lot to desire, especially for such a popular and well rated place. We were not in a hurry, but they took their time to take our orders. My very first breakfast in Antigua and it was a pleasant one. I had a ham and cheese croissant sandwich which had to be eaten with fork and knife because it was too delicate to hold. I also had a plate of fried plantains which are one of my favorite things in the world. The service here was excellent and the bathroom was clean. I'm looking forward to visiting their other locations as they are scattered all over Guatemala. I'd like to try their other breakfast plates which could included eggs, sausages, and beans.
