I had a great week in this apartment. -They arraigned pickup from the airport for me. 20$ US taxi ride, about 20-30 min depending on traffic in coxen hole. Driver was on time and had mame tree sign. -When i arrived the staff member was there to carry my luggage. staff wear orange shirts that say staff. I paid the owners in US cash. -I was Queen studio #1. second floor above the shops, stairs to access. I think that floor is 3 queen studios. Then there is a few rooms or studios on the top floor, where the owner was too. And then there is a second building farther back in the property, with more rooms or apartments. I think also a few rooms on the ground floor behind the store. -The studio was great, everything i could need, and clean. Good AC unit. The balcony and hammock was a nice surprise. There is ALOT of wall outlets, so you could charge 20 devices at the same time if needed. TV has a full range of channels, in english, with special channels like national geographic and others, but picture quality is low, static. Bed was comfortable, big shower with hot water. 2 good quality towels. good lighting. Pretty quiet room, cannot hear much from outside. -Location is great, its right on half moon bay, walk across road to the beach. Restaurants all around. Dive and activity shops all around. A few grocery stores/markets in the area. The loud part of the strip is around the corner and not right outside. Sun set across the road. Half moon bay is great for snorkeling too, best beach in west end. -There is a stack of beach lounge chairs in the hotel entrance way, free to use, I think the staff guy was going to carry it for me, but i carried it myself, it is just across the road. -Staff are nice, the workers spoke spanish, but the owner speaks english. You can see the workers cleaning and cutting the grass and stuff during the day. Fast contact on booking and whatsapp - Check out you leave the key in the door. Not many negatives, but i am observant and picky so here is a few: -Ovens do not work, owner said it was because of salt water affecting the burner. Stove tops work and there is a microwave. -Toilet paper cannot be flushed down toilet. Its put in a bin beside toilet. But that is standard in most places on the island. -durring the day the building next door was doing some roof repair, but im sure thats a temporary thing, and i cant hear it inside the room, only when on balcony. -There isnt a good sign for the hotel from the road. It does say "Mame trees" in big writing on the gate, and a hotel sign deeper into the hotel, but that sign should be out near the road. -It says you can watch nexflix and other on the TV, but i couldnt get it to, no idea how to get to the smart TV part of it, and altho it does have lots of english channels (and specialty channels) it is not good picture quality, lots of static. -They are big recyclers on the island, but the apartment didnt have a recycling bin, just a garbage bin. I used my own garbage bags to separate recycling. -No reception, there is contact info for whatsapp and email on the back of the door, and they did reply on whatsapp within a hour or so, but i was having trouble turning on the oven, and just wanted to find a staff person to show me what i was doing wrong, and i couldnt find one. Another time i went to use a beach chair and the staff guy was there and i think he offered to carry the chair to the beach for me, but i did it myself it was just across the road. the next time i went to use a chair there was no one around, i didnt need them to carry it for me but if i was someone who did then i wouldnt know where to find a staff member. The good thing is they do wear bright orange shirts that say staff on them, so its very easy to identify them, and they did seem to be waiting for me when i arrived, i think my taxi driver that was arrainged by them let them know when we were 5 min away or something.

Mames Trees was such a great place to rent a room in West End. The price was super affordable and the room was big with air conditioner, fridge and microwave. It was very clean and had a fire stick tv. You are right across from Half Moon Bay with free beach chair access included! You can book an excursion or just snorkel right there in the bay and there's my favorite restaurant right by, Sandy Buns. I was a female alone and the owner Adam made me feel very safe and ensured they have 24 hr security. They also watch your beach chair if you go off to eat.

I spent a little over three weeks at Mame Trees, and stayed in the budget Mame Room. The value for the price is definitely not beatable. The location is one of the best in West End, walking distance to everything yet slightly secluded from the hustle and bustle of the town. ||Adam is probably one of the most responsive person I have ever interacted with in various stays. He always got back to me quickly and secured my transportation to the airport (and changed it last minute upon my request). ||The Mame Room has all of the amenities needed for your stay. The shower has hot water, which is not always the case in West End. I’ve never ran out of hot water in my entire stay. The room itself is spacious and there is ample storage for your clothing if you’re staying for an extended stay.||My only downside comes with the fact that it smelt a bit humid in the room, despite using the A/C, which meant the majority of my clothes ended up smelling damp early in my stay. I was also surprised that housekeeping was an additional US $20 – but it is possibly because I got a good rate for a longer stay (again, I paid a very good price and the value for money is definitely there). Adam, however, did bring me fresh towels upon my request. And he did so promptly, I didn’t have to follow up whatsoever. On a side note, check-in was a bit confusing as I didn’t know where to go when I got there but Diana assisted quickly.||The staff working on the grounds were all very friendly and helpful. Furthermore, the location is very secure and I never felt unsafe there, despite being a woman travelling solo.||Overall, it was a good stay and very hard to beat in terms of pricing...

We had a wonderful stay at the Mame Trees and would absolutely return and enthusiastically recommend. ||Our room (#5) was spotless with ice cold AC, directly across from the beach (Half Moon Bay), and beach chairs were included. Wifi was great, and fast and even worked from the beach! The location was perfect for us in the heart of Half Moon Bay and is absolutely perfect - next door to gift shops, coffee shop, walking distance to dozens and dozens of restaurants. The tour operator next door is also wonderful! Don’t forget to go to Sandy Buns! ||A few things that could’ve enhanced the experience slightly would’ve been a little more clarity with check in (instructions to go to blue house but no one was there), and the water pressure was virtually non-existent/lack of hot water. It was actually quite difficult to wash my hair due to lack of water pressure. The shower head assembly could also use some repair. Housekeeping is not included (available for a fee) which was fine for our short stay but longer stay might’ve required a change in towels at least. Also, messages sent through Expedia weren’t answered as we would have liked to have arranged transport as offered through the hotel but had to find transit elsewhere. None of these things deterred from our stay whatsoever. ||Thank you for the great stay, we will...
