Although my criticism can be seen as harsh or even outrageously out of pocket for some, I believe I successfully help restaurants limit their problems down to the minute details to render their very own restaurant perfect. I shall begin with the restaurant itself.. the restaurants architecture and overall plans are well done yet the very placement of the bathroom appears to be placing an issue within the service of drinks and the path to the toilets as throughout the dinner I went through to the bathroom twice and realized that I would often be confronted and or discombobulated when coming head to head with one of the servants when a few meters form the washrooms. Digressing from this point the service was surprisingly the most shocking. Due to the want to keep these allegations anonymous I will not state names or physical descriptions. Our server was very often reaching for his privates to scratch them in the open resulting in me being astonished as he later gave us our food. An other servant whilst entering the cuisine scratched her behind as if no one would notice again in the open. We had to pay for the service at the end. Apart from this mild issue the food was tasteful but ruined by an unremarked over usage of pearl onions those onions that come in pickle jars. I took the wild boar and the tartare… the tartare was good but confusing as I was lost due to the bizarre usage of butter and bread I was slightly confused as to how I was meant to compile the tartare with the butter toast. The wild boar on the other hand was much more disappointing as the boar itself was well cooked but slaughtered due to the dryness and sauceless juiciness of it. The potato donuts were good but overused again due to the fact that they made me full reducing the amount of potato donuts would’ve been more suitable. Apart from this not a horrible and disgusting place to eat I don’t often give out 3 stars for bad service....
Read moreThe service at the restaurant was courteous and polite, which we appreciated. However, we experienced a few lapses, as our waiter occasionally forgot the drinks we ordered in the meantime. This inconsistency slightly marred an otherwise pleasant service experience.
Our opinions on the food were mixed. On the positive side, the steak and dessert stood out for their quality and taste, meeting our expectations for a dining experience of this caliber. Unfortunately, the rest of our meal did not live up to the same standards. The risotto, salmon, and smoked celery were particularly disappointing. Some dishes were bland and lacked flavor, while others were overly smoky, detracting from the natural taste of the ingredients. Given the restaurant's reputation and pricing, we expected a meal that would leave us satisfied without the need for additional food at home. This was not the case, as the portion sizes were smaller than anticipated.
The environment of the restaurant was one of its redeeming features. The ambiance was pleasant, contributing to an enjoyable setting for our dining experience.
Overall, our dining experience did not fully meet our expectations, especially considering the price point and the restaurant's standing. While the service was friendly and the ambiance enjoyable, the inconsistencies in food quality and portion sizes were significant drawbacks. It's worth noting that these opinions reflect the majority of our group's experience, with 8 out of 12 guests finding the food to be disappointing. We frequent restaurants often and base our expectations on a wide range of dining experiences, which this restaurant unfortunately did...
Read moreI chose this restaurant because they advertise having daily specials. While the quality of the food is great there are some aspects that leave much to be desired. IMHO the point of having daily specials is to make them less expensive but also fast. Unfortunately it was neither of those two things in this case. Similar quality restaurants charge almost half this price for the same quality specials in the city center. I also waited almost half an hour for the two courses. I could accept a higher price point as there are not many decent places in the area.
What I think was absolutely unacceptable though was the attitude of some staff members. As I started eating my meal, they discussed moving me to another table right in front of me, referring to me in the third person, using unprofessional language to say the least because a bigger group arrived and they wanted to rearrange the tables. The attitude before and after the incident was also unprofessional and cold. Upon receiving the check they informed me that they charged me a service fee automatically (tip for good service). When I asked them to remove it, the lady also commented angrily on that. After a few minutes of waiting they did remove it, but I did get a few other comments from the waitress, saying she congratulates me for saving 700 forints, which was absolutely beside the point of our interaction.
After visiting a lot of restaurants, bars and pubs in a lot of countries I can safely say that the service fee or tip is always payed in exchange for the great service: for a smile, for kindness...
