An outstanding experience! Great service and ambiance and wow, what food! Beautiful raspberry gazpacho to start. The pork belly and pork knuckle were cooked to perfection. The potatoes accompanying the latter (translated as flap jacks for some reason although they are more like a firm potato dumpling shaped into a potato wedge) and the Platonic Ideal of a potato. A must-eat! There is also a lovely wine list with different Hungarian wines to try. They were excellent and accurately -described by the menu, so you can easily choose something to your tastes. And/or have pálinka! They serve a superior quality here, delicious and smooth. Recommend the plum. And be sure to save room for dessert because the cottage cheese dumplings (túrógombóc) are quite possibly the best thing on the planet! You can share one order between two people if you’re feeling full, but you absolutely have to have them! The texture when you dig in is sensational, absolutely luscious, sensual and melts in your mouth. Not too sweet and even if you think you don’t like cottage cheese (it’s not like the American stuff at all) I am sure you will absolutely love this. Do yourself a favor and go...
Read moreLet's start with the good. The ambiance was nice, the toilets were clean.
Now, to the bad, the service sucked!! I had to plead with someone to come get my order after sitting, reading, and attempting to kill time for 15+ minutes with no service staff in sight. When I did get service, it was met with attitude and condescension. It's 2024. A young woman dining by herself shouldn't make you want to gag. Grow up!
I deleted my previous review, where I said the food sucked without providing a photo. I'm rewriting so that you can see the specific meal that sucked. I bet they have other things on the menu that taste good judging by the high rating this place seems to get, but my experience wasn't good.
The food was bland, had small portions, and the duck confit was so dry, it may as well have been just bacon bits. I wish I hadn't gone to this place at all. I'm now wary of trying Hungatian restaurants blindly (including google reviews) without a trusted friend's approval.
For the price, it should have been better. Anything would have been better than this. To think this was my first meal in 6+ hours and I still couldn't bring myself to...
Read moreI recently had the pleasure of dining at Korhely, and it was an exceptional experience from start to finish. Nestled on a quiet walking street free of traffic, this restaurant offers some of the finest Hungarian dishes I have ever tasted. Each dish is a delightful blend of traditional flavors, making for an unforgettable meal.
The terrace at Korhely is the perfect spot for a relaxing lunch. Shaded and serene, it provides a peaceful escape from the hustle and bustle of daily life. Enjoying a meal there feels like a mini-vacation, with the ambiance enhancing the delicious food.
What truly sets Korhely apart, however, is their outstanding staff. The waiters are not only the friendliest but also the most professional team I have encountered in the whole country. Their warm smiles, attentive service, and deep knowledge of the menu made our dining experience even more special.
Korhely is a gem that combines fantastic food, a relaxing atmosphere, and exemplary service. I can't recommend it...
