This hostel is a disaster waiting to happen. Don't stay here under any circumstances. I rented a private room here recently and when I arrived I found out the wooden stairs that led up into my bed noticeably creaked on several steps. As I looked further at them (as you can see in the photos) the entire staircase showed visible cracks and signs that they needed to replaced before anyone else used them. As you can see in the attached video the handrail wasn't secure at all and swayed significantly with very little effort. They simply weren't safe to use so I ended up sleeping on the 1st floor couch (which is not what I was paying for). Any business should be regularly checking stairs like this at least every year. This is not something that just suddenly appeared in the last year. This is clearly wear and tear on these stairs that has been there for years. You can even see how much the stairs are splitting where the screws are in the attached photos. It also looked like they had painted over some of these cracks. Don't stay here it is genuinely not safe to do so. Management needs to get its act together, not just attack the reviewer (which they have a track record of doing below), and immediately take steps to review every single wooden stair in their rooms for this kind of damage and replace them asap.

It was a cheap and decent option to stay in Budapest. It is a good location. All rooms are facing a very noisy street with ambulances and cars 24/7, so that sleeping with open window can be a real problem. With closed windows is okay, they isolate pretty good but cab be hot in summer. It was very clean inside, it's a big plus! There were some things I didn't like though. Thus, the showerheads in the men showers were not holding on the wall and the draining was blocked, so that you permanently stand in 5 cm dirty water. No air freshener was in the restroom. The water tap in male shower is unusable because of the weird water-saver nose tip. In the living room (lobby, kitchen) there is an air conditioning and nice ambient music and lightning.

We stayed in this 6 bed, 3 bowl, apartment while backpacking around Europe. No care about the state of the apartment before our stay, as a sharp piece of metal (a join in the flooring) was sticking out from the middle of the floor. On our last morning just before we left this metal caught the sole of my foot and ripped a sizeable chunk of skin (apologies for the lack of photos, google deemed them too graphic). As it was soon before we left and early in the morning, there was no staff available, but I can’t imagine they have much intention of fixing this fatal floor. Severely under equipped as well, I would urge you to find somewhere else. Shower was amazing.

We stayed in Room F1 3 and found 6 bed bugs. Immediately after the first night, I notified them about it and they were shocked to hear about the issue. However, as provided in trip adviser, it is not the first time that they became aware of this issue; there were a couple of times before i.e., April 2019 and August 2018. As such, they were clearly on notice and disregarded the serious health hazard. Allegedly, they removed the mattress but upon entering the laundry room, it appeared that they had only washed it. We suggested to them at least 3 times to throw out as it was a serious health hazard but it appeared that they were not committed to ensuring that their guests’ well being was first.

During the evening of the same day that the mattress was allegedly thrown out, we returned to our room to find out that there were still bed bugs and emailed them to assist us and move us however; they did not respond. My friend killed at least 6. At 2:00 A.M., we had to book a hotel to only stay for 5 hours as we were flying out that early morning. To date, my friend has hives and bruises all over her body. She had to throw away clothes and shoes. We had to spend a huge portion of our trip looking for medication and laundrymats to ensure that the bed bugs were not in our luggage and let alone taken to the USA.

In light of the above, I requested a refund as per the below email without avail. I suggest that you take them out of your system as this is not an issue that can be easily shrugged off. It is a serious health hazard and the hostel has not taken the appropriate measures to ensure the bed bugs’ removal or that their guests are safe. We left at 2 am and went to a safe hotel that cost me three times the amount of this private room.

Travelers - Do not stay here, this is a horrible experience. Bed bugs will bite you and you will get bruises, it is not worth it. The management needs to hire an exterminator and throw out the furniture. This is serious.

Management - Please respond to our email. My friend is seriously in pain. In addition, I suggested that you take out the furniture. The room is infested and you just washed the items. This is a serious health hazard. I hope you do the right thing because every person staying on that floor will see the bugs or get bitten.

I can share pictures but they are...

The staff at this accommodation are extremely rude and display racist behavior.

Here’s what happened: When I checked in, there were no towels in the room. I went to the reception to ask for towels, but there was no staff present. The check-in time was stated to be from 2 PM, so I waited until 2 PM and went back, but the reception was still unattended. I called the number listed on the reception door, and the staff member said they were off-duty today. I found this completely unacceptable.

I asked how it made sense to leave the reception unattended when guests need essentials like towels. However, the staff member insisted that towels could only be provided the next day when they returned to work and said that if I couldn’t stay without towels, I should leave the accommodation. When I expressed how unreasonable this was, they became irritated, spoke to us in a condescending manner, and kept telling us to leave.

The staff member’s name is “Jack”. Be cautious if you encounter him. This was by far the worst accommodation experience I’ve...
