Incognito Bar Cafe — Restaurant in Budapest

We have been to Incognito a few weeks ago and ate and drank on the terrace. It was quiet, as in, no motorised traffic, which was great since our 2,5y/o daughter was asleep in the stroller. We tried a few different dishes and drinks, most of them local and recommended by our waiter Frankie. He was not wrong. Everything tasted great!

He also shared tips for other places to eat, go out, do activities, go sightseeing, etc. this all while not being intrusive , but genuinely interested and wanting to share cool experiences.

When our daughter woke up from her nap in the stroller, she was having a typically toddler temper tantrum. Frankie made her a little boat out of paper to play with and distract her from her grumpiness. Later on we asked if we could have a juice for her, but instead of pouring it in a glass, if they could put it in her bottle. Frankie brought her her bottle on the serving tray and offered it to her as if she was the queen herself.

All in all a lovely experience with a very nice and charismatic waiter. If we would not live in the Netherlands, we would come...

During my visit as a 21-year-old traveler, there was a small misunderstanding — I was served a dish I believe I didn’t order. The waitress insisted it was part of my order, but I truly don’t recall asking for it. Still, I ate it, thinking it might be included with the main course.

This kind of confusion can easily happen when both sides are communicating in a non-native language. But what truly stood out was how the owner handled the situation: with understanding, kindness, and generosity. The charge for the dish (around 5000 HUF) was kindly waived, which I did not expect.

I really appreciated this thoughtful, customer-oriented approach. Even though I usually don’t write reviews, I wanted to express my gratitude and support the restaurant’s reputation in any way I can. Mistakes happen — what matters is how they’re handled, and this place handled it with.

Went here today with my family, not only was the service incredible, but the waiter was very quick and positive. As soon as we sat down we were greeted with smiles and kind faces that made us feel right at home. I was so pleasantly surprised at how fast and welcoming the workers were. We immediately got water the second we sat down and it kept coming, just like we wanted it to. I ordered the lemonade and even though it wasn't as sour as I wanted it to be it was super enjoyable and special. Our orders came relatively quickly and the portions were absolutely perfect, nothing was too much or too little. It was absolutely perfect. We tried a Cesar salad and the rumor that Hungarian chickens are the best was deemed true! The meat was so delicious and had the best flavor, everything was so enjoyable and I'm happy it remained that way throughout the entire meal. I would definetly come here again and I wish the entire staff a very happy and successful life for making me and my family this satisfied and happy! Much love...
