Saloniki Gyros Taverna — Restaurant in Budapest

Nice, tasty portions and a good price, staff is nice and orders are done fast.

Only downside is the opening hours, 10am to 3pm means you can't grab a bite after work, they should really extend it to 5pm, also place is closed on weekends.

Makes sense though, the restaurant is always packed at lunch hours because people from the nearby office buildings flock here (I'd recommend visiting either before 11am or past 1pm if you don't like waiting in line).

Not even the pandemic could broke the glory of this tiny, yet absolutely recommended Greek-style taverna, in front of which there is always a huge queue around midday and there is a reason why. It's close to downtown, next to many office buildings, and quite simply, offers outstanding gyros-plates, maybe even the best in town. An amazing greek taverna in Budapest. Gyros plate here is very tasty with 3 kinds of salads. A bit pricey compared to other restaurants selling gyros. A very good lunch option. Its available on food panda and wolt. But if you are going to the restaurant for a take away, be prepared to stand in a queue. But its worth the wait and price🙂.
