The service leaves much to be desired, considering that the tip is included in the bill - you find yourself in a situation where you are clearly unhappy with the service, but you can't even express it by not leaving a tip
We arrived an hour before closing and the first thing we saw was dissatisfaction on the faces of the staff. It is not clear what caused such a meeting of guests who are going to leave their money with you and literally give you a tip.
We asked the waiter if we could pay separately or get each separate bill, it would be more convenient for us - the waiter simply refused us. If you have worked in catering, you know that restaurant automation systems have such a solutions as splitting the bill by order and other solutions for optimizing work with the guest's order.
We asked again if the waiter could split the bill, and the girl said yes, I can just create 2 orders. Okay, we thought, this is already nice since there is a feeling that we are in good hands.
No. You will not find service in this place: You will not be told that there are ingredients in the dish that are not written on the menu, if you did not ask - this becomes your problem, and not the responsibility of the establishment. The waiter will not repeat the order (there were 6 of us, the probability of error is high), they will bring you the wrong dish, after an awkward pause you will be asked again what you ordered (not at the moment of taking the order, but when they brought you the wrong dish) and you will be the last one to wait for your food.
Okay, here comes the moment of payment. There are 6 of us. They bring us 2 bills. We are trying to understand the logic of dividing the dishes into these 2 bills. The waiter talks to you very arrogantly and reluctantly (read: are you stupid and can't read, everything is written on the checks), it turns out that they divided our bill just randomly. For example, the dishes of one person were on two different bills - which created additional inconvenience when paying between us. On our side, we paid the bill this way - one person paid one bill and the other paid the second. We thought it would be more convenient, including for the waiter - the cafe is closing soon, let's not waste time. And then we realized that we needed to settle accounts between each other, but first, find all our dishes on two separate bills. That is, the waiter split the bill simply with the next logic - not one bill, but two. There was no help to your guests in this, as they say, the rest is your problem.
That is, we left money in this cafe, we left a tip and we did not even receive at least some care and an attempt to help us have a good time.
This is an amazing attitude towards the guest, I am extremely outraged. I think that the cafe is focused on tourists who come once and for this you don't have to try, you don't have to form a service, you can do whatever you want, because today this person came, and then it doesn't matter.
At the same time, some of our company were not there for the first time, that is, the cafe and the staff have no desires to do the best service (do the best in work) and no focus on forming a base of regular guests.
I do not recommend visiting this...
Read moreDisappointed. We arrived there at 12:00 on a Sunday and the place was full. We decided to wait 15 mins to be seated. When we had our table the waitress took our order and the drinks came relatively quickly. Can’t say the same about the food. I’m not exaggerating we literally waited 55mins for our food. After 35 mins I called the waitress to remind her of our order. She sent one of her colleagues to us who then proceeded to try to justify the long waiting time and started arguing with me about how the place was full and the food was fresh. Even for fresh food in such a rather upscale or any place for that matter it should be ok to expect your food not to take an hour to be prepared. She told us it would be another 15 mins at least.
In a Party of three we all ordered the same thing. It was described as the “Sunday brunch” : mini granola, mini açaí, lox, avocado, poached egg, bread. The dish was literally not even the size of a starter. Starter Salad would be the right description for it. My guy friend ate it and it didn’t even put a dent in his hunger. The avocado was literally a couple extremely thin slices. Not worth mentioning. The “bread” was 3 croissant style buns that didn’t even go with the dish. Granola was 3 nuts on mango flavored yogurt. Not yum. Açaí was room Temperature. All in all pretty terrible experience, waiting time too long, staff didn’t even apologize and food portion ridiculously small. Food is mediocre at best. On top the Prices are really high for Budapest. Do yourself a favor and go...
Read moreDanish - Paradicsom, sajtkrem (800 Ft, 10/10) -- Heavenly. Cream cheese blends with roasted whole tomatoes. At room temperature, the pastry and cheese fats combined into something real tasty at the edges as well. I base my 5/5 rating entirely on this pastry.
Torta - Narancsos truffel szelet (1050 Ft, 7/10) -- Passable competitor. Layer cake of orange/chocolate cream. Surpassed easily by dedicated cukraszda (such as at the bastion).
Quiche szelet (950 Ft, 8/10) -- Intense. The filling tastes blend into a slightly overpowering whole, that is tempered by a mild crust. May have been tastier when warm, but if you're hungry this is a treat that has some bite back.
Forro Csoki adag (850 Ft, 6/10) -- Typical hot chocolate. Combines well enough with the pastries, but becomes too overpowering alongside the chocolatey desserts.
Limonade adag (1400 Ft, 8/10) -- Moving. The simple-looking ingredients combine to a great lemonade, with three citruses and fresh herbs. Huge 'let's make this at home too' factor.
The environment is calming, as is the restaurant interior. The kitchen and stockroom are visible from the table, and the small selection of pastries/desserts displayed on a part of the counter gives the place a real honest feel. We went around 18:30 and left at 19:30 - the place was quite empty at this time. Two pastries can stand in for a light meal. We're not vegan, so the food is good on its...
