Now, let’s talk about the food—because it’s nothing short of exceptional. The menu is a delightful mix of Italian classics and creative dishes, all made with fresh, high-quality ingredients. The pizzas are a must-try, cooked to perfection in a beautiful open pizza oven that adds a touch of authenticity to every bite. The crust is crispy yet chewy, and the toppings are flavorful and well-balanced. Beyond the pizzas, the rest of the menu shines too, with dishes like handmade pasta and succulent meat options that are equally impressive.
Whether you’re a local or a visitor, Porcellino Grasso Ristorante is a place you’ll want to return to again and again. Great food, a cozy ambiance, and top-notch service make it a standout dining destination in Budapest. Highly...
Read moreI'm sorry to do this just because the service in this place is amazing, servers reminded me of the warm, human and welcoming atmosphere you only find in Italy, but unfortunately it is not enough to rate this restaurant more than 2 stars, we had and antipasto Verona, and it was OK, cold cuts and some cheese , good quality, couple of dips, red pepper and a creamy cheese dip that with the Italian appetizer culture were not suiting at all, but so far so good, as a main course we had spaghetti carbonara and risotto with gorgonzola, pear and pistachios ,a complete DISASTER, we have been served spaghetti with frittata (overcooked scrambled eggs) and parmigiano reggiano, with bacon, so there is no pecorino, no guanciale, and the egg cooked, BINGO! which calling it ridiculous for an Italian restaurant is a compliment, my risotto was pre-cooked or of a very very low rice quality (not arborio, nor Carnaroli like a risotto should be) the rice beans were sticking each other like an asian dish with a forced attempt.to make it taste Al dente, the risotto was just sweet as hell, the gorgonzola inexistent, I mean it was barely edible, and it's clear some beginner cook who doesn't even try the food before sending it out of the kitchen made...
Read moreWow. Seriously wow. Budapest really is Foodapest and finding some excellent Italian food via Porcellino really cemented this cities status as a proper foodie town. Came in for a late lunch/early dinner between rushes and was immediately impressed by the decor and atmosphere. Going for the rustic vibes on the first floor, the dining room is separated into 2 large spaces with a variety of seating options for different groups and then a lovely seating area upstairs filled with sun!
To the food, we went with the beef carpaccio and caprese to start with both being above and beyond expectations. Decadent would be the word that comes to mind. For the rest, kept it simple with a Spaghetti Carb and a Neopolitano Pizza. The carbonara was delightful, creamy and rich with perfectly cooked pasta. The pizza was another level as well and I did not hesitate to fold my slice over like a true New Yorker and was rewarded with each bite. Panna cotta for dessert also excellent though personally would have liked the toasted coconut to be chopped a bit smaller. I seriously dont think this place can do any wrong. Bravo to the food, staff and whole group. Would come back in...
