The most beautiful church I've ever seen!! This whole place is simply.. magical!!! Especially during night time..when the streets are filled with snow and the lights turn on. The Kea Hotel just at the foot of the church is the best place to stay because of its location. It's easily accessible, be it to the best restaurants there or the cultural center or the movie theatre. The church is additionally beautiful once the lights come up in the evening. Ps: do not miss the burger and fries at the restaurant bang opp the church (opp kea hotel).

The creator of this building also designed the Hallgrímskirkja church. A simple interior with an eye-catching stained glass window. The structure is also an interesting project and is one of the town's landmarks. You will also see the marina at the end of the fjord from the height of the church. It's worth hanging around here for the views

This is the Lutheran church of Akureyri. Located on top of a hill not far from the city center - in walking distance. A high building overlooking the fjord. The inside of the church is typical Lutheran and the building itself is similar to the church in Reykjavik because they were both designed by the same architect.

Quick a number of steps up to the church but you will get a good view of Akureyri from the top. Nothing really special about this church. glass windows and a proper church organ. Did not feel very welcome as the Uncle was more interested in putting out a "close the door" sign. Does not smile at greetings.
