We stayed here for two nights on our visit to Akureyri. On arrival we were immediately greeted by the host, who showed us around and to our large bedroom. We loved the size, and it helped us feel at home for the couple of days we were there. Our whale watching tour with Ambassador left from a dock that was a mere 8 minute walk from the guesthouse! ||||I've read some comments about the parking - we were able to park in the driveway for the entire first day as we simply stuck to the city only and walked everywhere. The next day we went out to Godafoss and some other natural sites there, and when we returned the driveway space had been taken. However, there is street parking on the street directly in front of the house, as well as a parking lot in the back which are both free after 4pm, so parking did not prove to be an issue for us. Just keep the times in mind when visiting!||||The bathroom and kitchen are both quite small, but I believe the whole place only has 3 guest rooms so I think it was just fine! We just had to share the kitchen space sometimes :) The walls were a bit thin but I brought a noise machine with me and thus wasn't too bothered by it. I'm sure due to the location that the house sells fast, I recommend booking early if you want this...

Read moreMy wife and I stayed here almost a week, and were given the largest of the three rooms available. The whole ground floor consists of the three available rooms, a shared shower/toilet and a shared kitchen. ||||Everything was spotlessly clean and in good order. Our room had a double bed + two singles, table and chairs, tv. Very warm. ||||The kitchen was basic but very clean and resonably equipped. Fridge. Microwave, coffee machine, two ring hob/small oven. Just two saucepans and four fry pans. Loads of good chip free glasses, mugs, plates, cutlery etc. ||||One pillow each only - easily rectified with a folded fleece!||||Provided tea and coffee: yes, sort of, had to ask for more instant coffee as only a couple of spoonfuls. Tea bags: fruit. Lemon. Earl grey. Luckily as an English man I'm never without a few emergency tea bags in my kit!||||Would we stay there again? Yes. In the post Brexit exchange rates this was the best value in...
