Eatery at Four Points Sheraton:
We stayed at this property from 27th Dec to 30th Dec 2018 with family. This review will focus on our experience at the Eatery. We did sample the food and services at the Eatery. Service and food at Eatery felt like either somebody important was on vacation or as though it had been outsourced to a subpar catering agency – both cooking and service.
Breakfast buffet (tried on 28th and 30th Dec):
Fell flat in the choices provided. Usual fare nothing that stood out. I do not know how much people notice but when we are limited by choice we feel we did not get our moneys’ worth. It is typical paying consumer mentality and you do not have to even be an Indian for that. This mindset is prevalent all over the world. So what do we do? We take large quantities of items onto our plate with no intention of eating it. One may ask does the wastage reduce if the choices were unlimited. Unfortunately, no. Just that you would find varied items on the leftovers and not the same few items as in this case. So much food wasted by patrons. It can easily be made a punishable offence.
As the service was slow, I decided to task multiple people with the same task – “Please get me a “chai””. Nothing happened. Then I reminded somebody in a blazer and I got two chai – one in a tea-wale glass and the other in cup and saucer. Of course, I went for the tea-wale glass. Lunch Ala carte (tried on 28th Dec): We tried the veg and non-veg thaali as it was advt as "local cuisine". Again, nothing much to brag here. Nellore fish was stinky. It did not when I had the same dish the day before at dinner in my hotel room. Nothing to write on the veg thaali. Both thaalis were so bad that we had to remind ourselves that we were in Andhra and we will get to taste authentic Andhra cuisine elsewhere in Vizag. A strict “no-no” (an equivalent of not being halal or kosher to a foodie) is to provide basmati rice where it should not be present. Points to the fact that there is absolutely “zero” risk taking, or should I say they took a risk serving basmati. I understand that local rice varieties do have risks in terms of sourcing, age and quality of rice, amount of water to use for cooking and cooking times but their mild flavor helps the chefs’ masalas, sides and accompaniments shine through. Basmati is noisy and can never be mute. Anybody can cook rice. It is the sides namely veg and non-veg masalas that one can showcase their expertise. Skills that were sadly missing on this day at the Eatery meal. A complete waste of money and time. Understand that this is not a Michelin rated restaurant but at least try to do justice to what...
Read moreThis restaurant is within the premises of Four Points by Sheraton Hotel near waltair main road. There is ample parking space for four wheelers. The restaurant provides buffet lunch, buffet dinner and Sunday brunch. We visited the restaurant on a weekday buffet lunch with a tariff around 1170 rs per person excluding tax. The ambience is cool and well lit which helps in augmentation of apetite. The staffs are courteous, polite and professional. The buffet spread mainly focuses on continental and oriental dishes. Starting from soup till desserts, every preparations were superb. In a nutshell, the spread consists of salads, sandwiches, two soups, four starters, oriental main course, continental main course, south Indian main course, fruit platter, desserts and hot beverages. Alcoholic beverages can be added also with an extra cost. Grilled veg and non-veg sections were top notch. All ingredients were felt fresh, appealing to taste buds and light on stomach. The price of the spread was aptly justified by the quality of food and service the restaurant offer. Undoubtedly, one of the finest buffet spreads of Vizag. Overall verdict- definitely...
Read moreNo much spreads available for the cost of around 1100rs per person.. non veg items are not so worthy, they have kept egg biriyani ! First time i saw egg biriyani being served in such big hotels.. atleast chicken biriyani or mutton Biryani is preferable by most of the people.. and also soup they have kept buffalo soup and they have kept one pork item, tell me how many percentage Indians will have buffalo and pork.. Wow what an idea of saving money, i saw that not even half the people were touching these two items.. atleast provide some chicken soup and mutton dish and then if you really want to serve pork or buffalo then keep it as extra items.. don't play cheap gimmicks to save some bucks!... Also when called to check the menu, they mentioned that can't reveal the menu items 😅 now i understand why they don't reveal the spreads ! Waste of money, pls...
