Noise Cosmic House — Restaurant in Andhra Pradesh

Made my first solo visit with high expectations, and it will be my last. Do not recommend... their service is only for certain customers, seemingly.

Despite the promising vibe. The staff were discourteous enough to make me feel unwelcome.

THE LONG STORY:

Arriving at 8.30 to find the place filled with more staff than customers. The menu was boring without many themed or special drinks, which I like to enjoy when visiting a new place.

I tried to make my order at the bar for a snack and cocktail 🍸, but I was approached by floor staff to take my order. After I asked for a table which was denied despite the near empty floor because the tables were for larger memberships only 🙄.

Midly preturbed at this, I still took my seat at the bar and served my drink promptly by the bartender, who was my only positive interaction at the venue. He actually took the moment to confirm the drink was to my satisfaction before serving another party.

I sipped my drink for the next 10 minutes and enjoyed the music. I also had the opportunity to observe how staff moved around and interacted with a few other customers.

My snack arrived 😋, and I waited to let it cool for a couple of minutes and made my attempt at enjoying it on the uncomfortable bar bench such as it was.

Only now, during the middle of eating my snack some 15+ mintues after my original order, I was approached by floor staff who began to explain to me their cash and carry system 😅

I motioned that I would pay for both snack and drink in one moment. He indicated payment would need to be right now!

I was very annoyed at this point 😒 I told him to let me finish first. Once more, he began to explain their cash and carry policy.

If they practised this policy with common sense, you should request payment when the order is placed, or the drink is served, or during the 10 or so minutes when I was not preoccupied. Instead, for reasons entirely unclear, they chose to trouble me mid munching. Despite me communicating that I would settle it in a moment or two. I was badgered for a small amount. As mentioned before, the place was nearly empty, and staff milled about doing nothing.

Finally vexed, I got up to leave without finishing my snack and demanded the bill.

Seemingly taken aback, he made a show to fetch the manager, who approached me and began to explain cash and carry 🙄, no attempt to ask what is the matter or consider my experience so far. I very bluntly told him to give me the bill so that I may leave. His attempted intervention stopped there.

The same member of staff who badgered me handled the bill. He gave me my slip, and while I was finally paying, he could not wait a moment but left me waiting for it to be collected while he greeted and chatted with another party. Clearly showcasing that the customer experience is last in his list of concerns as he makes me wait on him.

The only meaningful apology offered was by another member of staff who had witnessed the whole interaction but was otherwise not involved. I think there is some kind of work culture issue causing this problem, or at the very least, an entirely broken incentive structure for staff to interact with customers over the course of the night.

Finally done with the painful transaction, I left as fast as I could.

Hilariously, I was asked by two other patrons who were also leaving with me in the elevator. if I knew any other bars in town 😆.

I was already soured for the evening, but I pointed them to Ironhill brewery and hope they enjoyed a better night than any offered at Cosmic House.

Had I been given a table, my order and payment collected in both timely and considerate manner maybe it would have been a nice evening as the night went on but clearly that is well beyond the capacity of many working at Cosmic House to provide.

If you're visiting Vizag, steer clear. I suspect they survive only because there are few options in this city and rely on...

The vibe is good, but the food isn’t.

Firstly, the ambience and the whole vibe are really good. The live music is entertaining, and the staff are polite and respectful. The service is also reasonably quick.

Coming to the food, we ordered both veg and non-veg items from À-la-carte. While the non-veg items are mediocre, the veg items definitely need a lot of improvement. When a kitchen can’t even get a simple dish, like Onion rings, correctly that would raise serious questions on the quality of food. Even when it comes to buffet, they have a good number of trays with interesting items on display, but most of the trays are either empty or about to get empty. The mocktails are a huge disappointment. Everything tastes the same, too sugary, too much ice, and very unpleasant to have.

To make things even worse, the restrooms are very unhygienic. Knowingly, I would never step into a restroom like that. I had found public restrooms a lot cleaner than the ones in here. The cleaning staff really has to pay attention and keep the restrooms clean from time to time.

To sum up, because of the unpleasant drinks and poor taste of food, after having our appetisers, we left the restaurant without having either a main course or desserts. Only because of the vibe, I would give this place a one-time try. Without the above-suggested improvements, this place would never become a must-try in Visakhapatnam and might even fall off the maps...

I observed two things at this place. If you are a couple and want to have a good time, this is not for you. Because the food tastes very bad. Nothing tastes good here. It is so much overpriced on top of it. So you will be absolutely disappointed. You will be disappointed in the dance floor as well because they only play one track repeatedly. You will be exhausted listening to that stupid track. If you are stag entry beware of the scam. They charge 1000 rupees entry which cannot be redeemed inside. That means you are paying 1000 rupees for nothing. That is not even worth inside the pub as there is no dance floor entry for stag entry. So the entry fee which is cannot be redeemed and overpriced tasteless food is bonus. So don’t just go here just because there is no other option. This is worthless in terms of food and ambience both.

One more thing is there are so many things in the menu. But half of them are not available. It is just for show. And like everywhere the bouncers are brainless here as well treating customers very badly.

After my visit here, I am convinced that it is better to choose a good restaurant with great food or a good brewery which serves great beer. This place is not deserved to be called as pub. This is just pretending to be a pub so that it can grab money from...
