My mother and I were so excited to indulge in the special mango buffet that was advertised. So excited that we waited 1 hour 45 minutes to get a table, which is something we have NEVER done in our lives. In fact, we weren't the only ones waiting. There were several old people (who came with walking sticks) that were waiting along with us to get a table. This made us believe that the wait was probably worth it. But never have we been so disappointed. I never write negative reviews but I felt this needed to be done.
We came for a mango themed buffet. We expected to be hit with the flavour of mango. However, only 10 items can be said to have had the mango flavour. Even so, the flavour wasn't so obvious. If someone hadn't mentioned it, we wouldn't have thought that mango was an ingredient.
Being a special mango buffet, one would expect that you would have used the best mangoes (Here, I am not referring to the raw green mangoes but to the sweet mangoes). Instead, when I took a serving of diced mangoes for desert, I was absolutely shattered to taste sour mangoes which left a horrible aftertaste. How can you call this a special mango buffet and serve sour mangoes (during mango season) to your customers? Maybe foreigners can be fooled into believing this is the taste of mangoes. But we are Bangaloreans who have tasted mangoes since we could remember.
We came for an authentic Indian experience. We expected a South Indian ambience with traditional music. Instead, the restaurant was playing 'Queen'. I'm not sure what type of ambience the restaurant is going for but it is very confusing.
When we were admitted to the restaurant after that 1.45hr wait, some of the items were nearly over/soggy(no longer crispy as advertised). When we are paying the same bill as a person who enters earlier, why are the customers who are admitted late, served left overs. I have been to buffets before and they always replenish the dishes when it's not longer crispy or when it runs out. Despite paying the actual value of the buffet, we did not receive the proposed quality of the buffet.
The white pasta was not what white pasta should be. I cook so I know what the consistency of the sauce should be. I've tasted several white pasta dishes so I'm aware of what the taste should be. The white pasta that was served tasted like the chef has simply added cream to wet pasta and seasoned with a bit of salt and pepper.
The guy preparing the chaat was so disinterested that I felt like telling him that if it's too much trouble to make, he can forget it.
The only things we liked were the cotton candy, mango nachos, a sweet mango chutney/gravy, the phirni, Pani puri, kesari bath, bhindi salad(not crispy though), sabudana Vada, fruit custard. The sweet mango chutney was Bang on and reminded me of my Grandmother who made it just like that. This was the only highlight and positive memory that I will take away with me.
We wanted to take photos and share it with our friends to encourage them to go for this. But we were too preoccupied with our...
Read moreThe quality of food is extremely pathetic. They start of with appetizers to the table. There were 6 items and not even one of them is tasty, healthy and it worse than the road side vendor. The chat they serve is horrible. The ICE GHOLA is waste of time and full of preservatives. The food is not good for healthy living. The price charged is exorbitant. You can go to a local UDUPI Restaurant and get better food. Even the masala dosa was yuk. They don't know how to make good healthy, tasty, good food. Don't charge so much and provide yuk food. The most simplest food anybody can prepare is Bisi Bele Bath and Curd rice and they screwed that up. They were horrible. All my plates were filled with food and had to throw after initial bite. I will not eat here even if they serve for free. Lost the appetite completely. Came here reading fake google reviews from people who don't know what healthy food is. The ambience is good and service is good but what is the use without good tasty healthy hot food. The main course and dessert were horrible couldn't taste anything. This is a complete waste of time and money. The manager asked me to review and when i put 1 star he cancelled it on my phone. That was rude. He apologized and said i should have complained and they would have brought good food and taken care of me. It is not service that i am complaining here it is the quality and taste and authenticity of food. It tasted like my kids preparing dinner and testing on me. Will not recommend this place at all.
D:02/26/2025 This is to respond to the management that this review is 100% NOT fake. I have better things to do than rate your restaurant. I did it completely out of my dissatisfaction at the quality of food. I have the transaction copy of the bill paid for one person on that night. If you don't want to accept your horrible quality of food that is up to you I am not coming back to test ur food again. I won't recommend others to waste their time there . I don't know what you guys have in mind. It's upto u. Don't send me any...
Read moreReturned from a lunch session today. There was a Mango mela going on which left me wondering "How much is too much?" The dishes were all good in their own way, but when everything is Mango and you get very less options for others, there was something which I longed for. This is situated bang on the main road and cannot be missed. Parking is on the kerbside which may prove to be a bit of concern for 4W. We were among the first entrants and did not have any delays. Got a cozy table and it was quite comfortable. Started with the welcome drink, Aampanna and moved onto soups. There was tomato basil and Appe saaru. I was glad I chose the earlier one as Appe saaru was quite bland. The starters were all good. Crispy khatta corn, raw mango bruschetta, hariyali gobi, raw mango tikki, mango pakoda and tandoori bhutta. At the end of the starters session, the taste of mango was apparent on the tongue, a bit sweet and a lot tangy. The summer soy salad and raw mango chickpea salad were quite good. I totally skipped the live counters as most of them were mango based. The main course was the saving face today, i must admit. Pasta, lotus stem biryani and palak paneer did give some much needed spice. The desserts were again mango based. Cheesecake, srikhand, halwa didn't actually have the strong mango flavour. If someone is a strong mango hearted person, then they will relish this buffet. I want to return here after this mango mela gets over and try the regular fare here. I will recommend this place for the food, ambience and the exceptional service...
