Visited this restaurant recently for late lunch . The restaurant is located in the complex 5th floor opposite to the Vijaya college . The place is just one floor so it can get crowded very easily .
We went for the buffet - 1.soup - the soups were really good , I loved the veg soup than the tomato soup they were really good . 2.salads and veggies - they were ok ...some of them didn't look or taste that fresh . It was like it was made many hours ago and just kept there . Out the salads the corn and mango were good . The starters were good .my least favourite was the panner it was bland and cold . The other too were good . Really liked the manchurian . 4.curries - the curries were pretty good , my favourite was panner it was spicy and had depth of flavour the rest two were a little towards bland side . The butter kulcha and roti were good , the size was pretty big and there was generous dose of butter . The roti was roasted very well . The noodles and fried rice was quiet disappointing , there was nothing great about them , it was just edible . The sauce was also not accurate in taste , it tasted somewhat different . The rice was dry . 7.the chat varieties was very less , it felt more like cost cutting than a variety spread . They had only Pani Puri and Aloo chat . The Aloo chat wasn't that good , they was nothing in it , he basically just puts sweet and spice chutney , chat masala , Sev and then curd on the top , just mediocre . 8.the dhokla was pretty good , it was soft and fluffy and went really well with the sauce . 9.veg biryani - again not that great , very very mediocre flavours , it looked pudina rice and tasted like mixture of all veg biryani flavours. Pretty disappointed . There was lack of flavour In it . 10.curd rice was good , it fresh and wasn't dry . 11 . Desserts - the dessert varieties were good , there was barfi to jamun to pudding , the taste were all good nothing was bad . Really loved the dry jamun and kheer . Ice cream - the flavour was good , and I loved the add ons of tutti fruity , hot chocolate and nuts it was a really good idea and I eat to my heart's content .
Overall pretty ok ok type buffet , there was pasta also but they it was closed by the time I started . My honest suggestion is that they can reduce the items if they want , maybe remove the pasta and chats ( if Ur intent on keeping Pani Puri and Aloo puri only ! ) And make the rest of the dishes perfect! Cause at the most I have only one word to describe ' mediocre' , I expected better from 1947 , is it better than other normal hotels ....yes , does it stand with its other competitors ? Definitely no . There needs a huge improvement on the flavour and...
