Visited Absolute Barbecue Marathahalli on June 15th - Father's day with my Nephew.
The Management is ill equipped to handle weekend crowd, but the Father's day lunch was not a good experience.
There was shortages of plates, cups, tumblers, tissues and cutlery. Did not get water served until halfway through the lunch after requesting. And just water bottle and no tumbler.
Some of the Menus displayed on the App was not available...and so was the complimentary Root beer for the Fathers.
The starters were served late and cold...had to return and wait for fresh ones.
Overall the food...starters and main course was very ordinary. The Non veg soup was bad. Desserts were Ok except Jalebi which was puffed.
The Service during the previous months Nov 2024 to Jan 2025 was better and since then it is going down.
Hope the Management takes suitable steps to handle the weekend crowd better.
Best wishes to AB in anticipation that my next visit would be a pleasant experience.
My latest visit on 23rd March 2025 was quite bad and a total let down.
IFTAR menu was advertised on the website, but none of the items were available nor the waiter was aware of it.
Regarding the regular food, the starters were bland, in main course mutton curry was not available and nearly half of the items in Dessert were not available or not fresh.
The service was very poor. Manoj, the person who served was not at all responsive and full of attitude as though we were free loaders and not paying customers. Despite asking for Chutney and tissue a few times, he did not respond and finally a person clearing dishes brought it. Even the dessert spoon was not given on request and we had to clean the regular spoons with tissues to eat dessert.
When requested for starters with more spice, it was served after quite a delay and was very salty. And all the items were not served...we were being asked, is only fish ok or do you want chicken as well?.. for lava items. And for grill, is only prawn ok or you want fish as well? When asked about the delay, we were told it will take another 15 mts so you could try something else. And finally Manoj literally dumped the prawn on the grill and said - here's your prawns. Such an attitude towards a paying customer.
Only good thing was an item from the wish grill..pasta with fish.
I noticed some improvement in service in Nov 2024 when Mr. Tirtha served us and kept repeatedly asking if the food is ok and anything is to be changed. He got the starters made spicier and even 2 main course items specially got prepared. Following this I visited several times in Jan 2025 and either Mr. Tirtha or Suvo served us excellently.
Today, Mr. Tirtha was serving near the entrance and we sat near the buffet as the AC is not effective at the entrance.
So, it's only the waiters who can make the dining experience good as the general Service and quality of food remains either poor or mediocre.
And finally I would suggest to avoid visiting on weekends to avoid the crowd and indifferent waiters and missing items on the menu.
Hope the management will take note of this and take remedial measures.
I happened to visit AB Marathahalli 3 times in a month for Birthdays on 3rd and 20th Jan and 2nd Feb 2026. Each visit was a great experience with consistent food quality and excellent service by Mr. Tirtha, Mr. Suvo and team. The Lava stone experience today was delightful with well marinated non veg starters. Best wishes to AB and hope they maintain the quality and services.
Visited Absolute Barbeque, Marathahalli today i.e., 03 Jan 2025 after my previous visit on 18 Nov 2024. The food was excellent compared to my earlier visits and the Service by Mr. Suvo and team was very good. The only downside was the wish grill...the person was reluctant to serve and the grilled food was barely warm. Planning to visit on 20 Jan 2025 again for a Birthday lunch. Hope the Monday lunch would be as good. Best wishes to AB for a...
Read moreAfter being turned down a couple of times at Absolute Barbecue I finally managed to book my visit ahead of a week for a special lunch with the family to celebrate my Anniversary.
We reached slightly ahead of our booked slot and were quickly seated in a waiting lounge, while the wait staff were getting our table ready. The best part about waiting for your table at Absolute Barbecue is that the lounge is opposite their Wish Grill and Chaat Station. And, you actually get to start with your appetisers even before you get to your table, how cool is that.
As we sampled a grilled chicken tossed with some onions and veggies, and a Dahi Paapdi Chaat, the waiting time flew, and soon we realised that we were seated in one of the quiet corners, as requested. The place does get louder, especially when there are so many people celebrating their anniversaries and birthdays and these guys play an appropriate song (quiet loudly) and the wait staff sing and dance for you. They did acknowledge our request to keep our celebration with a simple and net complimentary cake with just a wish at the table.
After the customary setting with the grill being placed in our table, it was non-stop feeding frenzy. You get bombarded with choices of meat and veggies placed on the grill, served on your plate, from the wish grill station. Service was quick, prompt and to our satisfaction.
While most people visit AB’s for the barbecue starters, I would definitely recommend their Wish Grill and the wide buffet spread. In the wish grill, you get to sample exotic meat like Emu, Rabbit, Mixed Seafood (which had octopus), with your choice of Indian and international sauces. What’s also on the wish grill are the chicken, quail and fish, for the non-experimental kind.
The buffet spread is quiet good, and the roasted chicken soup is worth a special mention. The varied curries, with lamb, chicken, fish and prawn was a delight and tempts you to eat more, even though you are filled with Starters + Wish Grill. The Shrimp Curry was another wonderful addition to their menu, loved every bit of it.
Most of the Indian mains in the buffet had a little high tinge of cardamom, which made them taste similar, but equally wonderful. The Chicken Dum Biriyani is a decent addition and so are the choice of rotis, garlic naan and kulchas served hot on the table.
Oh, I must mention the kid friendly station, which was whipping up children’s favourites, like pasta, French fries, fried smileys and some jelly.
Another best was the Brazilian Grilled Chicken which was cut and served on our table, from a huge skewer. Wonderful flavors, a highly recommended dish.
The dessert spread was dominated by the cold stone, more specifically the Paan shots, AB’s version of pan flavored ice cream. It is a simple mix of vanilla, and butterscotch, smashed with some gulganth, saunf and drizzled with a special sauce. The best way to end your meal at Absolute Barbecue .
Would have loved if the Buffet had included a complimentary drink was a part of the menu, and if AB’s maintained a little cleaner tables, but hey these are glitches that happen on one of the busiest days of the week, Sunday, in the most sought after Restaurant in Marathahalli
Quick Summary – Widely spread menu, with interesting grills with exotic flavor combinations, a even wider buffet and dessert spread, makes every hungry tummy’s wish come true, paired with a great service, the only downside is you cannot do justice to this place in just one visit, so I am coming back, soon...
Read moreABs!!! One of the most popular restaurants in Bangalore now. They've expanded tremendously over the last few years, opening multiple outlets across the city of Bangalore and rightly so.Multiple outlets give more people to get a taste of the fantastic experience that is ABs!!
Coming to my visit now, We had just been there for a Friday night dinner treat of one of our friends and the overall experience was amazing.
We had the usual spread of barbecue appetizers on our table involving multiple dishes of chicken, prawn, fish, mutton etc. For the veggies, there are mushrooms, paneer, crispy potatoes, crispy corn etc. (mind you, even the non veggies will love the crispy potatoes and crispy corn, they're absolutely delicious).
The live counter had the collection of usual exotic and rare meat/sea food. You can choose from Rabbit, Emu, Quail, Shark, Octopus, Squid. Something which die hard non veggies (like me) can definitely try out. I had a combination of all sea food items and they tasted quite unique (in a nice way).
The main course had a combination of veg/non veg curries, dal, Biriyani, Chinese etc. I tried out a couple of items and they were quite good, nothing to complain of.
Dessert is the ultimate icing on the cake (pun intended). With a wide spread of ice creams, pastries, sweets etc. which provide the perfect end to a fantastic meal. Do try out their pan flavoured ice cream, tastes unique and you'll definitely enjoy it.
The service is top notch (which is always the case here) with the waiters always attentive and giving you special attention. Always looking for feedback from you which adds a nice personal touch to the entire experience.
Pricing is a mixed bag, specially on weekends. If you have a considerable appetite and are able to enjoy their entire offering in considerable quantities, then it's a really good value for money offering. You're bound to feel happy and good about the price paid for the food which you enjoyed.
While if you're appetite is on the lower side and you are not someone who can gobble up food in good quantities, you'll feel hard done by while paying the bill at the end of your meal. So decide the value for money aspect of this place based on your capacity...
