This is one of Bengaluru's the best Italian restaurant with cozy ambience. This restaurant is mainly for typical Italian cuisine fans, I can say it's a treat for them with hell lot variety of dishes. For ordinary people, it's just an usual high priced restaurant with beautiful ambience! So normal people can visit this place one time to just enjoy the ambience and feel the vibe of that place. Coming to prices it's very high, I don't think everybody can afford this place for one meal and strongly recommend people not to visit this place to fill your tummy completely. The average price per person is around 600-800, so be careful while visiting. The funny fact is almost every dish over here will cost around 400-500, which is more than average expense of a person on food for one complete day, here you won't even get a single dish. Now coming to positives, the ambience is one thing I loved over here and their complementary item for us was bread and something which was similar to mayonise and best thing is they serve it for free everytime you visit them! So don't miss that one! Since we opted veg, we ordered lasagna, which was very famous in veg family of Italian cuisine. They took time and served us, it was very satisfying after very long wait, the price was around 395 bucks, which sounded more, but it was the one which I could afford! Tbh it was similar to egg omlette, but it was good! Then the nearby waiter was waiting for my next order, so I took deep breath and looked towards menu again, I was shattered by seeing the prices around 600 for pizza, then we ordered margarita pizza which was 650 bucks, my inner feeling was you could get 6 same pizzas in Domino's for one over here. But I was helpless to myself. Then pizza came to my table when I was shooting the walkin video of the restaurant, I got to know that something was wrong by looking into my friend face who came along with me! When I went close to my table there was something which looked like papad initially, later I realised it's our 650 rupees ka pizza. It had very little thin crust, I agree Italian Pizza do have thin crust, but it was so thin I was not able to believe it. The base of that pizza was burnt all the way from kitchen. I totally agree it was my mistake to visit such big restaurant before knowing its history. I must appreciate that staff were good and friendly and as I said ambience was top notch. The only request to the owner of that restaurant is please try reducing prices so that everybody can afford this place! I believe serving good food to everyone is much better than serving great food. Hope you understand! Last advice: Strictly recommended for Italian...
Read moreBologna is an excellent option for great Italian food along with a old school ambience and some great music.
Ambience: (4/5) I absolutely loved the old school feel of this place. It didn’t boast of much extensive interior designing, but it have a subtle calmness and pleasantness to it. The beautiful woodwork and the pictures of Italy on the wall really added to the feel of the place. Multiple seating options both inside and outside. If you are in a smaller group, I suggest sitting outside.
Food: (4/5) The food here was great. We started with the (1) non-veg platter - which had a chicken, fish, prawns and calamari on it. The prawns and the calamari were brilliantly made and the dip paired very well. The salad in the Center was fresh and added a great contrast to the other parts of the platter. We also had (2) the broccoli aglio olio as a starters. The broccoli was cooked brilliantly and the flavours were really well balanced. We then moved on to (3) Four cheese ravioli - this was by far the best dish of the evening - such incredible flavours and textures. You just have to taste it to believe it, quite hard to articulate in words. We also had (4) the lemon chicken which was just alright, the chicken felt a tad chewy, but the accompaniments of the dish were really great included the veggies tossed in red sauce. We then moved on to the seafood aglio olio which was baked. Lovely and unique flavours. To finish the even we had 2 desserts (1) Chocolate mousse and (2) Tiramisu. Though the mousse was great because it wasn’t too sweet, it didn’t quite have the punch the tiramisu had. The tiramisu is a brilliant dish definitely worth trying when in Bologna.
Staff: (5/5) Super friendly and super helpful. Great set of staff and they are very knowledgable in the food and it’s ingredients. So always a safe option to just ask them and go with it.
Summary: (4/5) this is a great options for those Italian food lovers. The food is prepared and cooked well and is also presented brilliantly. The ambience coupled with the great music make this a must visit. Highly...
Read moreI recently visited Bologna Italian Restaurant in Indiranagar, hoping to enjoy a well-reviewed Italian meal, but unfortunately, my experience fell short of the expectations.
Food: I ordered Pollo Fritto, Verdure Grigliate Al Pesto, and Spaghetti Aglio Olio Shrimps. While the dishes were decent, they didn’t quite live up to the hype surrounding this place. The flavors were okay, but nothing stood out as extraordinary or particularly memorable.
Service: The service was where things really went downhill. Despite having a reservation for two guests, I was made to wait outside because no seats were available indoors. I informed the manager twice about my booking and asked if there were any seats inside, but he insisted nothing was available and encouraged me to place my order. To my surprise, another couple who arrived after us and was seated outside initially was later moved indoors, while I remained outside amidst the traffic noise.
When I questioned the manager about this preferential treatment, he initially denied any wrongdoing, stating that I hadn’t expressed a preference for indoor seating. However, after some back and forth, he admitted that it was indeed his fault, which only added to my frustration.
Ambiance: The outdoor seating, though cozy, was marred by constant traffic noise, making it difficult to enjoy the meal. The atmosphere inside the restaurant seemed more pleasant and comfortable, which made the situation even more disappointing.
Overall: While the food at Bologna was okay, the poor service and the blatant preferential treatment I experienced overshadowed the entire visit. It’s disappointing when a restaurant with such potential fails to deliver on basic hospitality. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend Bologna based on...
