Delhi Highway, Indiranagar – A Royal Veggie Feast Straight from the North
📍 Location: 12th Main, Indiranagar, Bengaluru ⭐ Visited: June 2025 💸 Cost for two: ₹1,200 (approx.) Review by @stuartlittleshubha
If you’re craving rich North Indian vegetarian food served with a royal flair, Delhi Highway in Indiranagar is a must-visit. I finally got a chance to try it out last weekend, and here’s my full experience — from the aroma at the entrance to the last bite of their luscious gulab jamun.
🌟 Ambience – Regal and Relaxed
Walking into Delhi Highway feels like entering a contemporary Mughal durbar — minus the pomp, plus the comfort. Think elegant wooden furniture, carved panels, soft lighting, and soothing instrumental music playing in the background. The vibe is calm, not too loud, perfect for a family dinner or even a peaceful date night.
🍴 The Food – Pure Veg, Pure Bliss
Let’s get to the main deal: the food.
Starters
We kicked off with their famous Dahi ke Kebab – crisp on the outside, melt-in-your-mouth soft inside. Easily one of the best I’ve had in Bangalore. We also tried the Paneer Tikka Delhi Highway style, marinated in rich spices and grilled to perfection – juicy, smoky, and addictive.
Mains
We went full throttle Punjabi: • Dal Makhani – creamy, slow-cooked, and indulgent, it was the kind you want to cuddle with on a rainy day. • Paneer Khurchan – this one surprised me! Paneer in a semi-dry tangy tomato masala, not too spicy, just right. • Tandoori Rotis and Butter Naans were fresh, pillowy, and served hot in a basket.
We also got a portion of Jeera Rice, and it was subtly aromatic, a great side for the rich gravies.
Drinks & Dessert
Their Masala Chaas deserves a special mention — refreshing, chilled, and spiced just enough to reset your palate.
Dessert was the classic Gulab Jamun, served warm and soft, floating in just the right amount of syrup. Not cloyingly sweet, thankfully.
💬 Service – Prompt and Polite
The staff Sampath here is well-trained, courteous, and happy to recommend dishes based on your taste. The food arrived in good time and was piping hot — bonus points for that.
If you’re looking for an upscale yet relaxed vegetarian restaurant in Indiranagar that serves authentic North Indian food, Delhi Highway is a winner. It’s perfect for vegetarians (or even non-veg folks taking a break!) who miss Delhi-style indulgence. Prices are on the higher side but totally worth it for the quality, ambience, and experience.

Read moreGlorified fine dining, such a disappointment. We had to wait for 20 minutes for chaat to get servered after 15 minutes of waiting when tables were seen empty. We ordered Bombay Ragda patties and was most horrible experience to our tastebuds. No arima, no taste at all. The patties was servered cold and stuffed with bread that was not even cooked / fried well. The presentation if dish was bad and no chutneys were serverd or part of the dish. Chef must go and eat Ragda Patties in Mumbai. Being a Mumbaikar and grown up with Ragda Patties this dish for me was a clear disappointment. We returned the dish after eating a spoonful.
We gathered courage and ordered veg kadai with wheat roties. This too seem like a mixure of chopped carrots, peas and beans with some gravy with few strands of onions. Rather than cooking this appeared to be a quick mix of boiled veggies with readymade multipurpose gravy. The wheat roties were too not hot but just about warm.
Althoygh the ambiance and decor is lavish and staff is totally confused and lacked order. When i refused to pay service charges due to bad service there was an argument. I was told that this is fine dining and service charges are to ve paid. I showed them their menu to point out there is no mention of compulsory service charge and I am in my rights for not paying for something I had a bad experience. Their systems dont print any bill without service charge thus they took my payment without service charge but gave me a bill mentioning service charge.
A never to return restaurant for sure. My advise don't waste your money on this joint. Oh, I forget to tell this is a pure veg restaurant, and the delhi name is nit to be fooled with any non veg delicacies delhi is known for...there is no sign outside that states this...

Now if you guys want to know in depth- After being in bangalore for the last two years ,finally decided to visit this place. We went with a lot of expectations since it's really difficult to find some authentic North Indian food .Initially we had masala papad which was kind of hard and not like any of the other papads which I have had from Pune and Mumbai, still it was okiesh. Then we had tomato almond cream soup and Jowar milk and mushroom soup ,the tomato soup was nice and later was delivered mentioning it was mushroom basil and roasted walnut soup and when we told them that's not what we ordered they took it back and another waiter came in within 2-3mins saying sir this is your soup which looked exactly the same, smelled the same with even basil in that ,since we didn't taste the first one I'm not even sure did they actually change it or not and the jowar milk soup was the chef recommended one and that was below average and it wasn't even that hot either. Then we had Veg bunna masala and Sirka pyaz wala paneer for main course with assorted roti basket which was okiesh .Now let's talk about the positive side aswell the ambience was nice,a really good place for families to come out spent some tym and relax. But we weren't happy with the food ,could be our personal opinions ,at the end if you would like to visit some place with good ambience ,family friendly environment then it's a good place but if you are going there craving for some authentic North Indian food I wouldn't recommend it.But lassi did fill in all the voids which was created .Delhi special lassi was just amazing. ~You friendly...
