Newbie In Town, Daddy is this hot New Gastro Pub with a very eclectic ambiance and a flip bar. On a weekday night a bunch of us got together and ended up here with has multiple levels of seating with a crown jewel, a breezy open rooftop. Hard to see places like these in busy busy Indra Nagar.
We opted for a indoor seating and loved the way these guys have maximised the space with different level of seating with loads of private dining spaces.
I can keep telling you more about the ambience, but it is something that must be experienced, so I leave it at that.
Coming to food and drinks, the most interesting part, we asked for a few recommendations, tried out something from the extensive menu, but overall we were a happy bunch with the food and drinks.
The Mysore Sour, is a Take On the Classic Whiskey Sour, was nice and strong, So was the Smoked White Negroni.
The spiced mushroom tartlets, were just the right size to take-in in a bite, they were delicious.
The Smoked Sweet Potato Fries was very well made, perfectly seasoned with mild paprika.
The Vietnamese Fruit Salad was a refresh start to the starters, sweet and tangy flavours, balanced by the dressing.
The Ghee Roast Wings were mildly flavoured to my liking, and well cooked.
I could not say the save for the Peri Peri Wings, which was a little off in terms of the freshness of the chicken, maybe it was marinated way too long or needed a little more time in the heat.
The Chutney Chicken Seekh was a very innovative dish with a thin layer of green Chutney atop the Seekh, which made you miss a trip to the Chutney bowl.
The Whisky Garlic Prawns is something that o absolutely loved, beautifully cooked prawns in a butter garlic sauce, served with prawn crackers, brilliant play of simple flavours and multiple textures.
The Dim Sums were perfect, especially the Thai fusion of red curry infused chicken mince, It’s a must try here, though I will probably ignore the vegetarian dim sum green curry Infusion.
For mains we ordered a few and decided to share. I loved the smoky chicken pasta and the chilli oil and scallion Flat Pasta, both super delicious and highly recommended.
While I wouldn’t discount the Dal Makhani, and Butter Chicken, what I must highlight is the Japanese Mutton Nihari Tiffin. It was a fabulous fusion of Jasmine rice with Mutton Nihari infused with some traditional spices, loved the fusion and flavours in this dish highly recommended.
Desserts were ok, loved the Chocolate Brownie.
Overall this place is a must visit in Indra Nagar, not just for the quirky eclectic ambience, the super delicious drinks, but the amazing spread of good food these guys have to offer. Get here this weekend and...

Food - we were a group of 5 celebrating mum's 75th bday. With no prior experience ordered 7 dishes in total and ended up with large tummies. Individual ratings against the food ordered: a. Chilli Paneer: (8/10) Mum's favourite and per her the paneer was soft with right amount of chilli and spice. b. Soya keema nachos: (8/10) Always had the chicken variant but this was equally good. The nachos could have been little thick and crispy. c. Tandoor Lollipop platter: (7.5/10) Except the portion size it tasted very good. My kids loved devouring it to the bone. d. Lebanese lamp kebab: (9/10) Minced lamb kebab with salad, pickled veggies, soft pita and creamy hummus. How on earth one wouldn't love it? We ended up licking the plate. e. Don Corleone: (8/10) veg pizza with paneer and mozarella. At par on taste with other joints nearby. Kids loved it as usual and so as we since their tummies were full. f. Grilled mushroom with soft polenta: (8/10) Mum's choice as she particularly wanted to try European. Had 2 bites and per me the umaminess of the grilled mushroom was best complimented with polenta. Would have loved if it was drizzed with some extra-virgin olive oil. g. Cheese & spinach stuffed in chicken: (9.5/10) By this time neither me nor wifey had the stomach to eat but left with no choice. Believe it that the best was reserved for the last. The combination of cheese and spinach stuffed in btw succulent chicken breasts was super delicious. Unfortunately had to leave 1/5th as all of us were filled till the neck.
Service: We reached late around 1030 and very hungry. Seeing the crowd assumed that we may have to remain hungry longer. But our fears were unfounded as starters were serviced within 10 mins of ordering and subsequent came at the right intervals.
Ambience: we were on 3rd floor as kids aren't allowed on 4th. With european setting the place looked perfect, though we would have loved if the volume were a bit low. My wife tried to keep it formal as it was mum's bday and she was in a saree. She felt a little odd initially but then who cares. We were there to enjoy special day and what mattered was the time well spent.
Overall I will come back again in the near future...
