Authentic Kerala Flavors Right Here in Bangalore – A Hidden Gem for Malayalis!
I recently visited Chefmster and was genuinely impressed! The owner and staff are all Malayalis, which made communication super easy and comfortable for me.
I ordered payar curry (veg), fish curry gravy, and Kerala-style rice. The rice was well-cooked and flavorful. Along with it came 4 sides – 3 veg dishes, a delicious payasam (sweet rice pudding), and a crispy pappadam. Everything was incredibly tasty and reminded me of home. That payar curry, especially, hit me right in the feels – tasted just like my mom’s cooking back in Kerala.
Even though I went during peak hours, the staff remained very polite, calm, and professional. That said, the place does feel a bit cramped – but the mesmerizing Malayalam songs playing in the background truly lift the vibe and make you forget the space constraints.
One thing I didn’t like at all was the drinking water. It had a stale (vatta vellam) taste, which I personally hate – so I highly recommend bringing your own water bottle. But if that taste doesn’t bother you, go ahead – most customers were drinking it anyway.
Portion-wise, it’s more than satisfying. I think if you ask for seconds, they do charge extra (called a half bowl or half plate) – but I forgot to check. Still, the main meal itself is enough to satisfy you even if you’ve borrowed your friend’s stomach and starved for 3 days 😂.
The total bill came to ₹145, which may sound slightly expensive, but it’s totally worth it. Finding authentic, tasty Kerala food in Bangalore is like finding a needle in a haystack, and Chefmster delivers just that.
I strongly recommend this place – 📌 Students: Treat yourself here at least once a month. 📌 Salaried folks: Eat here once and you’ll be bound to this place for all...

Read moreWe recently had lunch at Chefmaster Kerala Restaurant in Bangalore, and it was a great experience for anyone craving authentic Kerala seafood. The place has a simple, neat ambiance with a focus on traditional flavors.
We ordered Kerala meals, along with crab masala, prawns roast, and crab curry. The rice came with all the usual sides sambar, rasam, thoran, pickle, and papad. Everything tasted fresh and had that home-style Kerala touch.
The standout was the crab masala rich, spicy, and bursting with flavor. The crab was cooked perfectly and coated in a thick, well-balanced masala. The prawns roast was another highlight mildly spicy with a good mix of roasted coconut and tender prawns. The crab curry had a lighter, coconut-based gravy that paired well with the rice.
Portions were generous and satisfying. Service was friendly and quick, and the prices were quite reasonable considering the seafood dishes.
If you're in Bangalore and missing Kerala-style meals and coastal flavors, Chefmaster is a solid choice. Highly recommended for...
