Occasionally, you come across a real gem in a totally unexpected place surrounded by usual run of the mill businesses. This is one of those places. It was accidental that we discovered a breakfast place while going for a totally different restaurant, which happened to be closed for the day. EFGH didn't make any sense to us as a name. But the moment we entered, the warm smile & eager invitation by the manager made us feel at home.
Clean interiors, furniture & kitchen, almost everything arranged in surgical precision, made us intrigued about what was on offer! We tried button idlis of the pudi and simple varieties. Excellent filter coffee helped us wash the tasty morsels down. The food was simple yet wonderful! Ingredients were pure, and you could taste everything from ghee to curry leaves in their true flavour.
This place serves the best Sambar that I've tasted in Bengaluru! The overpowering bright boards of a bank right above the establishment is probably why most people walk by without noticing this hidden gem. But once you've tasted their food, like us, you're sure to return looking for...

“EFGH Udupi Kitchen is an absolute gem for anyone craving authentic South Indian flavors! From the moment I walked in, the warm and inviting ambiance set the perfect tone for an amazing culinary experience. The dishes were incredibly flavorful—each bite transported me to the heart of South India. The dosas were perfectly crisp, the sambar had a rich, comforting taste, and the coconut chutney was simply divine.
The variety on the menu is impressive, and everything tastes so fresh, as if each dish is crafted with love and care. I especially loved the traditional thali, which offered a delightful mix of flavors and textures, showcasing the best of what South Indian cuisine has to offer.
The staff was attentive and friendly, ensuring we had everything we needed for a wonderful meal. If you’re looking for a place to indulge in authentic, tasty South Indian food, EFGH Udupi Kitchen is a must-visit. I’ll definitely be coming...
Read moreHotel is very neatly maintained and the food tasted good. However the service is questionable since they short served an item in my lunch which may be deliberate or the item is removed from the menu which is unclear.
Had millets combo and the pulav served was luke warm but tasted good. Pongal / curd rice is missing in my thali served. All other items felt like a free sample and if you are a normal lunch eater this may fall short for 150rs they charge for the combo. Ps the prices are increased and not reflecting in the menu showcased online in google. Panaka was not good as it felt like mildly sweetened water. The gobi bonda and sweet serving quantity felt like a free snack. At the end of the meal it didn't feel complete which i rarely say since i am not a heavy eater.
If you are strictly health conscious then visit the place for some good food experience.
