Geist Brewing Co. Rajajinagar — Restaurant in Bengaluru

This is from a visit in Feb 2024. Sorry for my delay but this visit is still fresh in my mind.

Me and two heavy eaters/drinkers had finished a conference nearby and needed a spot that would quench our thirst for craft beer and also feed us great food.

And boy did Geist live up to that requirement.

There's a fried brie and fig chutney dish that was so good that we had two plates among three diners.

Malai broccoli was an absolute smash. Solid marinade and perfect cook on the broccoli.

We tried a pumpkin hummus which was good but not spectacular. And tried a couple of paneer dishes that were decent.

My go-to Geist brews are always the Uncle Dunkel and the Kamacitra. Since Geist launched cans, these are also the two I try and pick up when in Bangalore.

The Dunkel is a very dense bodied dark wheat beer. It's slightly low in bitterness and almost has a sour/bread malt kick when had closer to room temperature.

The Kamacitra is perhaps my favourite IPA in India right now. Perfect citrusy top notes and perhaps the textbook amount of bitterness that an IPA should have.

Pricey for high appetite/high thirst diners. Being our first meal of the day (brunch-ish) we paid maybe ₹7k total for two drinks each and a lot of food.

This feedback is regarding my recent visit to your establishment, and unfortunately, it was a deeply disappointing experience.

Unacceptable Service and Managerial Behavior

My recent visit was incredibly disappointing, marked by terrible service and an even worse encounter with the manager. He was so rude even doesn't care about the customer service .

I ordered a Peri Peri pizza and was shocked to find it came with only four small chunks of topping. It was practically inedible due to the lack of ingredients. When I brought this to the manager's attention, his response was appalling. He was incredibly rude, demanding to know why I hadn't complained earlier and showing absolutely no interest in hearing my feedback. I felt completely insulted, especially after paying ₹4800 for such a subpar experience. Adding to the frustration, the service was chaotic. I had to repeatedly ask for attention, and my snacks were served long before our drinks, which is completely backwards. It's clear there's a significant lack of customer service training, and the manager's behavior was simply unacceptable. I expect much better when dining out and paying a premium price.

Lovely ambience, with seating next to the lake around Orion Mall and lots of different variety of beers & ales there. Currently while writing this review they have 11 different beers on the tap. Possibly next place to try out the beers while enjoying the breeze.
