Imlee – The Chaat Gali is the newest addition to Bangalore’s vibrant food scene, and it’s already making waves! A franchise by Curly Tales’ Kamiya Jani, this place promises an authentic and delightful street food experience, and it definitely lives up to the hype.
Ambience & Vibe
The moment you step into Imlee, you’re transported to a lively chaat gali (street). The décor is colorful, quirky, and full of desi charm, with vibrant walls, fun signboards, and an overall cheerful vibe. The setup is designed to give you the feel of enjoying street food in a hygienic yet lively environment. Whether you’re catching up with friends or indulging in a solo chaat craving, the place has a welcoming energy.
Food Experience
The food at Imlee is a burst of flavors, perfectly balancing tanginess, spice, crunch, and sweetness—everything you expect from great chaat! Here’s what I tried:
Palak Chaat – This was the star of my meal! Crispy spinach leaves topped with tangy chutneys, yogurt, sev, and pomegranate. It was crunchy, flavorful, and absolutely delicious. The mix of textures made every bite exciting.
Aloo Mataar Chaat – If you love spicy and chatpata flavors, this one’s a must-try. Soft, well-spiced potatoes combined with chutneys and topped with crunchy elements created a perfect street-style chaat experience. It had just the right amount of heat and tanginess to keep my taste buds dancing.
Rose Lassi – A refreshing break from all the spicy goodness! The lassi was thick, creamy, and had a beautiful hint of rose flavor, making it both indulgent and soothing. Served chilled, it was the perfect way to end my meal.
Service & Pricing
The service was quick and friendly, with staff eager to guide you through their specialties. Given the quality, presentation, and taste, the pricing is reasonable and totally worth it.
Final Verdict
Imlee – The Chaat Gali is a paradise for chaat lovers in Bangalore. Whether you’re craving classic Indian street food or looking to try something unique, this place has something for everyone. With its vibrant ambience, authentic flavors, and exciting menu, it’s bound to become a favorite hangout spot. Highly recommended for anyone who...
Read moreWe visited Imlee on a Sunday afternoon, and unfortunately, the experience was underwhelming. Despite the restaurant being relatively empty, we had to wait a long time before the waiter took our order. When we ordered Kolkata Puchka and Delhi Golgappe, we were surprised to find that they serve both as the same panipuri. The waiter wasn’t aware of the difference and had to call the manager, who informed us that Suji Puri was still being prepared and would take additional time hence they served repeated dish which was quite disappointing.
Adding to the inconvenience, most soda-based drinks were unavailable due to a non-functional fridge. We also tried Vrindavan ki Lassi, but it didn’t meet expectations.
From their "Gajab" menu, we ordered: Sakarkand Matar Ki Chaat – The matar wasn’t fresh, which affected the overall taste. Aloo Matar Ki Tikki – The tikki itself was crispy and tasty, but the chutneys added on top created a strange flavor combination. Palak Pakoda Chaat – This was the highlight of our meal and tasted good. Pav Bhaji – Just okay. The pav was quite buttery but didn’t stand out.
Overall, the restaurant felt overpriced for the quality and quantity of food served. While the ambiance and hype created by influencers might draw people in, the actual experience didn’t live up to expectations. Hoping they improve their service and consistency...
Read moreWhat went well? Dal Kachori - Terrific. Fresh, crispy and flavourful 5/5
Masala Pav - Fantastic. The soft pavs with the latpat masala was divine 5/5
Aloo Tikki - Fresh dahi, Crisp and flavourful aloo tikkis. You'll not miss Delhi with this one 5/5
Lassi- Thick, creamy and right amount of sweet. Added malai on top would have been perfect though. 4/5
Rabdi Jalebi- Crispy hot Jalebi fried in desi ghee paired with a cool Rabdi which is not too sweet. Fantastic 5/5.
Chatpata Singhara - 4/5. Personally not a fan of battered and deep fried water chestnuts, but the taste was good.
What we didn't like? Pyaaz Kachori - Pathetic. Adding onion to normal kachori doesn't make it pyaaz Kachori. An insult to Jaipur. Please learn how it is made or remove it from the menu. 1/5.
Kolkata Phuchka - 2/5. Not even close to authentic taste. Again, please do not keep it on the menu if it doesn't even get the basic flavour profile right.
Washroom - For such a hyped place with the brand of Curly Tales, expected a much better washroom than this this one which is off in a dingy alley in a 3*3 room without even having soap for handwash.
Overall a good experience. Ambience was spot on. However, some personal oversight is needed from the owners to tick some of the large boxes and make us...
