Review for take away. Great food, disappointing service, and very smoky oily and smelly environment ruining the ambiance.
I have had food from here multiple times, mostly dine in and sometimes take away. Usually the service is good. Recently my friend pointed out the service has gone down compared to what it was a year ago and unfortunately it is true.
Ordered for Chicken Shawarma and Falafel take away today. After payment, the guy at counter asks me to wait outside and food would be ready in 10 mins. I go inside in some time to ask where should I collect the order then he says that I need to show receipt at counter outside for them to start preparing food. After 10 mins I get just the Shawarma from the counter outside, and when I asked for Falafel, he hands me back the receipt and says go show it at the counter inside he'll prepare falafel in the kitchen inside. That inside guy takes the recept and says it'll take another 15 mins for him while he starts to prepare falafel. Delay is not what I'm concerned about but what baffled me was the kind of treatment and their cavalier attitude of the staff there making the customer run to and fro around the restaurant for the food that they paid for.
Coming to food, I would say that the Pita Falafel today tasted the best I've had in a very long time. I would say the taste of Pita is good and not excellent (tasty but too thick bread) but the Falafel itself was amazing, way better than even Kebabci. Chicken Shawarma Arabita was okay. As in the chicken itself was a bit smelly. I've had better Shawarma before from this restaurant itself. Nevertheless, it was complemented with nice crinkle fries, good quality picked vegies and good toum (yup, actual toum and not some cheap sweet white garlic mayo) and mayo based sauce. If the chicken was a little more better quality like last time, I would have given 5/5 for food rather than 4/5.
Ambience has gone down. The dining area is a bit smoky, maybe the lack of proper ventilation and the floor was a bit dirty and sticky as well. As if some oily food was dropped and not cleaned properly.
I thought of pointing out the service issues to the manager I met last time but unfortunately he's nowhere near this entire area. Left the entire restaurant to the mercy of these apathetic staff. Hopefully, the management would bring back the original standard this place had...
Read moreI am not sure when will we focus on QUALITY and not QUANTITY. In India 🇮🇳, I think it’s a mentality problem, not blaming the owners here, because if people are happy with it, nothing needs to change.
I am ready to accept the little quantity of meat for the price I am paying. But I just cannot accept this that they are wrapping 1 roll with a Khubus first and then 2 Rumali rotis on top of the first roll. I mean why would you guys do it???
I know it is a bit tricky to do the business in India and make a profit out of it, because pricing is the game here and people are ready to buy the cheapest. But you can price higher for a dish with more meat in it and price less for one with less meat in it. People can opt for either ones. Why would you want to cheat the customers, by wrapping it with 3 layers of maida??
To the Owners I am not mad at you, but if you slightly change your menu. We have a perfect solution here. I am not SURPRISED because - Al Bain & King of Taste in Kamanahalli does the same. (They WERE my only hope before - Little Baghdad came into town)
This basically is my second experience with Little Baghdad. The first time I dined in and ordered a jumbo hummus shawarma, I noticed it the same but did not want to complaint since it was my first experience and quality was great. The second time I ordered in an Arabita Meal through Swiggy, but decided to unwrap the contents.
Dear Owners, I hope you take this positively and make a change in Menu. Those who want to eat Extra Maida, let them ask exclusively for it, please don’t make it the default. The AUTHENTIC tag is enough for you to get the right customers. I am definitely happy with the quality of food, but this could be avoided. Isn’t it just like trying to fool...
Read moreMy recent visit to Little Baghdad left me utterly disappointed with the overall dining experience. Here's a breakdown of the issues I encountered:
The vegetarian options were severely lacking. There was very little variety in the offerings for vegetarians, which was disappointing for someone like me who prefers plant-based options.
Despite my limited choices, I ordered the Falafel Pita and the Falafel roll in hopes of a satisfying meal.
Regrettably, the order took an agonizing 30 minutes to arrive, which left me wondering if the wait would be worth it.
Unfortunately, the food arrived cold, which was a glaring issue. It's disheartening to receive a meal that's not at the right temperature.
The pita bread served was exceptionally hard, making it practically inedible. This further compounded my dissatisfaction with the meal.
I had anticipated that the falafel, arriving after such a lengthy wait, would at least be hot and fresh. However, it felt like a far cry from what I was expecting. The entire experience left me feeling as though I had been taken advantage of, and it definitely did not qualify as a good dining experience.
In summary, my visit to Little Baghdad was a letdown on multiple fronts. From the lack of vegetarian options to the lengthy wait, cold food, and subpar quality of the dishes, I was left with a sense of dissatisfaction. This experience definitely did not meet my expectations, and I would hesitate to recommend it to anyone looking for a satisfying...
