A Hidden Gem for Chai Lovers and Late-Night Snackers – Makkah Cafe
If you’re looking for a cozy and laid-back spot to hang out with friends, Makkah Cafe is an absolute must-visit. Located in the heart of the city, this cafe has a unique charm, especially popular among students and those who love late-night outings. It offers the perfect mix of good vibes, tasty snacks, and unforgettable chai.
Ambiance & Vibe: The first thing that strikes you about Makkah Cafe is its simplicity. It's not just a cafe; it feels like a home away from home for students and locals alike. You can sense the nostalgia the place carries, as it’s a favorite hangout for many who cherish good conversation over a cup of tea. Whether you're there with a group of friends or just to unwind on your own, the laid-back atmosphere makes it the ideal spot to relax and unwind.
Food & Chai: The highlight of Makkah Cafe is undoubtedly its chai, which is some of the best I’ve tasted. Perfectly brewed, it has the right balance of spices and sweetness, served piping hot in traditional cups. It’s the kind of chai that keeps you coming back for more. And when it comes to snacks, they serve an array of delicious Kerala specialties, from crispy parippu vada to flavorful pazham pori (banana fritters). Every bite takes you straight to the heart of Kerala’s culinary heritage.
Late-Night Vibes: One of the most unique things about Makkah Cafe is that it’s a haven for night owls. Unlike many places that close early, Makkah Cafe keeps its doors open into the night, making it the perfect spot for a late-night chai and snack run. The crowd is always lively, with students and friends gathering for a relaxed evening of chit-chat, laughter, and some good old fun. It’s this sense of community that gives Makkah Cafe its distinctive charm.
A Perfect Spot for Conversations: What truly sets Makkah Cafe apart from other cafes is how effortlessly it fosters connection. Whether you’re catching up with old friends or making new ones, the cafe’s casual, friendly environment invites you to sit back and enjoy the simple pleasures of life. Conversations flow as freely as...
Read moreSulaimani chai, if you haven't tasted it, visit this cafe. Not just the sulaimani chai, the milk tea too is good. The onion Samosa along with the tea, superb combination. Khava naan, kajur, biscuit, Osmani biscuit, egg bonda, chicken samosa...you get it all. The Osmani biscuit is something to try. This is like the sweet and salt biscuit you get in bakeries but it tastes much better over here. Wonder why they don't use the old names anymore and use English substitutes(names). We asked for sulaimani chai and the server yelled out to the kitchen...'Lemon tea'. This is a typical old city style of cafe with ample floating crowd. Smoke everywhere as smoking is allowed inside the cafe. Not very ideal for families to visit but you can visit the cafe and enjoy the tea or saviories standing outside the cafe. Two wheeler parking space would be available but 4 wheeler could be...
