Located in the center of the city at Majestic, Mudde Madappa Mess is accessible from almost every corner of the city. However, to make your trip easier, the Mudde Madappa Mess is located in an old, almost forgotten building in Gandhinagar Mudde Madappa Mess is one hotel that serves authentic vegetarian food in the middle of the city. Ragi Mudde Meals is famous here with unlimited mudde, rice, sambhar, rasam and buttermilk on offer here at just Rs 90. One Spicy papad is given as a compliment with the meals although you do have an option to buy more if you are willing to pay extra. You also have the option to include a masala vade for a few more bucks (Rs 10) in your meal.Apart from the famous Ragi Mudde Rice Meals, traditional food items such as Lemon Rice, Khara Bath, and Idli are also available here.Do not expect a modern or a lavish experience when you decide to head to Mudde Madappa Mess. This hotel belongs to the old-fashioned category where you could experience how Bengaluru hotels used to look like a few decades ago. The furniture is also old and the hand-wash area is also a little dirty. However, the restaurant does not compromise on the hygiene and the quality of the food. And as said before, Mudde Madappa Mess is the cheapest time-machine you can get which will transport you to the Bengaluru of the 1970s.The functioning of this hotel is very unique. While coupons have to be purchased at the counter, your experience begins right from the moment plates are laid out in front of you. The plates do look grimy but before you raise your arm, steaming hot water in a jug is laid out in front of you with which you are supposed to clean the plate and wash your hands. Overall mudde etc is worth the...
Read moreWent to this restaurant for lunch on a weekday at about 1 pm and it was not crowded. This restaurant is about 10 minutes walking distance from majestic bus stand . Nearest bus stop to this restaurant is Anand Rao circle bus stop
Took meals here and it costed Rs 120 . We have to first make payment for meals here. When we sit on tables, in steel glass in front of us they will be pour hot water, this hot water is for pouring on the already cleaned plate. A person will come with a small steel bucket and that hot water must be poured in that bucket. For 120 Rs they serve unlimited ragi mudde, bassaru, a palya, a pickle, rice. buttermilk and a spicy pappad(pappad only one will be served). Everything tasted good . Palya and butter milk was excellent. As per me Rs 120 rs is overpriced , but quality of food is good and service is also great. If anyone is near majestic bus stand and want to eat ragi mudde then they can choose this restaurant.

The place had handful number of customers as I entered but within minutes, it was so crowded that there were no empty tables left. At the entrance is the counter where you are required to purchase a token (a slip) for the mudde oota which is 80 Rs. I was directed to a table where a plate with a half filled hot water was awaiting my arrival. One of the staff guided me with the process of washing my plate which by all means looked clean to me. I followed the protocol as he bought a bucket for me to dispose of the water in my plate. A pickle was served first followed by a palya again preprepr using some millets. The mudde or the raggi balls was served with bus saru. The raggi balls were very soft and the texture was just perfect. You can ask for any number of serves as it's unlimited meals. There's also rice when you are done with mudde along with rasam and buttermilk served with the rice. Overall a good experience for a very...
