A Disappointing Father’s Day Dinner Experience

We had high hopes for a special Father’s Day dinner at Glass Restaurant on Sunday night, but unfortunately, the experience fell far short of expectations. My husband, in-laws, and I were drawn in by the promotion for a Satvik thali—only to be informed after arrival that it was limited to lunch, something that was never clarified in the promotion.

We decided to dine in anyway, but the service was painfully slow. It took over 45 minutes for just three basic beverages and main course meals to arrive. It wasn’t just our table; both tables beside us were equally frustrated with long wait times. Orders were returned for being cold, and shockingly, there appeared to be only one server managing the entire floor.

When a lime soda takes more than 30 minutes to reach the table, you know something is off.

Though the staff tried to make amends by offering complimentary desserts, it did little to fix the overall experience—especially on an occasion like Father's Day, where three tables visibly left disappointed. We understand that staffing issues can happen, but there was no communication or even a basic gesture like offering a starter or bread to make the wait less jarring. We had an absolutely amazing dining experience! The food was nothing short of exceptional — the appam and prawns roast with coconut cream were simply divine, bursting with rich flavors. The malai chicken was tender and perfectly spiced, and the kalmi kabab was cooked to perfection. The mango salad added a refreshing touch, and the coconut delight dessert was the perfect sweet ending to a fantastic meal.

A special shout-out to Zoe for her outstanding service. She was incredibly attentive, friendly, and made sure we had everything we needed throughout our meal. Her warmth and professionalism truly elevated our experience. The entire management deserves praise for maintaining such high standards — everything was well-organized and seamless.
