ย ย ย Read moreMy taste buds embarked on a delightful journey recently, savoring the exquisite flavors of Nellore's chicken biryani and tandoori chicken. Let me tell you, it was a culinary adventure worth every penny (well, almost every penny!).
Nellore Chicken Biryani: This dish wasn't just food; it was an explosion of aromas and textures. The fluffy, fragrant rice danced with tender chicken morsels, each infused with a symphony of spices. Cloves, cardamom, cinnamon, and a touch of star anise played a harmonious melody on my palate, leaving me wanting more with every bite.
Tandoori Chicken: The succulent, tandoori-roasted chicken was a masterpiece of smoky perfection. The yogurt marinade had worked its magic, leaving the meat moist and flavorful. Each bite was a delightful interplay of tangy and smoky notes, a testament to the skilled hands behind the grill.
A Slight Pricey Symphony: Now, here's the caveat. While the taste was truly commendable, the price tag did leave a slight sting. Not just the main dishes, even the humble lemon soda seemed to carry a premium. Budget-conscious foodies might want to take a deep breath before diving in.
The Final Verdict: Despite the slightly higher prices, I'd say the culinary experience was largely worth it. The burst of flavors and the quality of the ingredients were undeniable. If you're a foodie who appreciates the finer things in life (and has a wallet to match), Nellore's delights are definitely worth a try. Just be prepared to shell out a little extra for the privilege.
Overall Rating: 4.5 out of 5 stars (minus 0.5 for the price point)
Pro Tip: If you're feeling adventurous, explore the Nellore region's unique culinary scene beyond these two stars. You might just discover your next favorite hidden gem!
I hope this review helps you decide whether to embark on your own Nellore food adventure. Remember, good food is always an investment, even if it comes with a slightly higher price tag....

During a recent visit to Nandhana Palace, we tried the Veg Meal and the Maharaja Non-Veg Meal, both of which offered a mix of flavors typical of authentic Andhra cuisine.
Veg Meal:
The Veg Meal was served traditionally on a plantain leaf, which added to the authentic South Indian dining experience. The meal included a variety of items like rice, sambar, pappu (dal), rasam, curd, vegetable fry, and papad. Each dish was well-prepared, with the sambar standing out for its rich flavor and the pappu offering a hearty, comforting taste. The accompaniments like pickle and buttermilk enhanced the overall experience. The spice level was moderate, making it enjoyable without being overwhelming.
Maharaja Non-Veg Meal:
The Maharaja Non-Veg Meal actually didnโt lived up to its name but it was okay kind. It came with chicken kebabs, mutton kheema balls, chicken biryani itโs a piece of chicken, two pieces of chilly chicken. The chicken kebabs were tender and flavorful. The drawback of non veg meal was it didnโt came with any dessert while veg meal were assorted with dessert. The charge I felt for non veg meal was a bit pricey.
Ambiance & Service:
The ambiance was comfortable and family-friendly, with a clean and welcoming environment. The staff was attentive and ensured that we had everything we needed throughout the meal. While the service was prompt, the high spice level in some dishes required us to request more water frequently.
Overall Experience:
Nandhana Palace delivered a satisfying dining experience, especially for those who enjoy traditional Andhra cuisine. The Veg Meal offered a variety of well-balanced flavors, while the Maharaja Non-Veg Meal was a treat for meat lovers. While some dishes could use slight improvement, overall, it was a flavorful and enjoyable meal.
