Nandhana Palace - Andhra Style Restaurant - Marathahalli — Restaurant in Bengaluru

After a great Biriyani experience earlier, we decided to head to Nandhana Palace again to try the trending Biriyani Thali.

We used to be a big fan of their Supreme Boneless Biriyani & Nellore Style Chicken Biriyani.

We ordered a few starters to begin with, the Andhra Style Seer Fish Fry was good, though the fish was not very fresh. The Chicken Lollypop wasn’t up to the mark either, slightly overdone masala, lightly burnt. Their famous Mutton Kheema balls were a decent portion, potently spiced, though I like it, the family avoided it totally.

The Guntur Cola was more of a Jal Jeera mix in cola, nothing special about it, can be totally avoided.

Next came the famous, trending Biriyani Thali. It contained 5 different Biriyanis, the Supreme Boneless Chicken Biriyani, The Hyderabadi Chicken Biriyani, Natti Chicken Biryani, Andhra Style Mutton Biriyani, & a Vegetable Biryani.

First, the Thali is not that well presented as it is shown in the pics, and all the Biriyani’s were absolutely cold. It looked like this portion was kept for display & they got it for us. The portions were dry & looked unappetising. I immediately requested them to change & get a fresh portion, which they did, in time.

As always the Supreme Chicken Biriyani was nice, with good boneless pieces, more like the Meghna Style. The Hyderabadi Chicken Biriyani was a decent one, but the chicken pieces was dry, hard & stale. The Andhra Mutton Biriyani was the best, the typical Nagarjuna style, however the Mutton pieces were huge & not very palatable. The Natti Chicken Biriyani was more of a Pudina Pulao, best avoided & again the meat pieces were hard & stale. The vegetarian Biriyani was ok, nothing great to mention about, but wasn’t bad either.

The verdict overall is, avoid it. It’s not worth the hype, especially when you are served stale, dry, hard meat pieces, and probably a day (or more)...

My Worst Experience Ever!!!!!!

I ordered food from this restaurant via Zomato at 1:15 PM. It initially showed 45 minutes for delivery. Midway, the delivery time was suddenly extended by another 15 minutes. Meanwhile, the delivery partner was changed twice.

When more than an hour had passed, I tried calling the restaurant. Most of the time, the number was busy. After trying 15–20 times, the call finally got connected. I asked about my order, and they just said ok we are looking into it,and disconnected the call.

The delay time kept increasing by 15 minutes each time for about 3 to 4 times. After 1.5 hours, I called the restaurant again. They said the package had already been handed over to the delivery boy, but the delivery boy was denying it. I waited another 10 minutes and called the restaurant again. This time they said Mam the delivery boy just came 2 minutes ago. We will now hand over the parcel to him...

So many lies and delays!!!

At the very least you should not accept orders if you are not prepared to fulfill them properly

Was craving for Banana leaf meal of Kerala, but most of the Kerala restaurants were in main city. So ended up driving to Marathahalli for Andhra meals. Chose Nandhana Palace over Nagarjuna as it was on the side of the road which I was driving on!

Ambience, Experience: Friendly helpful reception staff and valet who helped in parking the car at a safe place as the service road is usually jam packed. Good ambience. Not too fancy. Service staff were less in no. in 1st floor.

Food: As it was my first time I ordered regular veg meal and my partner ordered a Supreme Chicken Biryani and two fresh mint line soda to go with. Tastewise food was amazing. The veg meal, though, for the price I expected few more veg items.

The Andhra biryani was perfectly done. Tender chicken pieces and masala of the biryani were very tasty.

Service: Could have been better. As there was few staff attending to customers at 1st floor, had to wait sometimes for the finished items in my meal! In veg meal they gave only cabbage so not sure if other items got over when we arrived.
