Review: Overhyped North Indian Restaurant in Bangalore I had high expectations given the ratings, but honestly, this place is overhyped and doesn’t live up to the mark at all. We started with Chole Bhature (₹160)– the bhature was decent, but the chole tasted no better than what you’d get at a street cart back in North India. Definitely not the authentic flavor you’d expect, especially for that price. Next came the Aloo and Gobhi Paranthas (₹80 each)– a total disaster. The stuffing was minimal, bland, and completely lacked spices. Honestly, I can cook better paranthas at home. The only saving grace was the Jalebi, which tasted fine – but even that felt overpriced compared to portion and quality. Overall: Not worth the money or time. If you’re looking for genuine North Indian food in Bangalore, there are far better restaurants to explore.

Wishing to have good paratha in Bengaluru, Rishi's Paratha Plaza is the best place to go. They into business from past 25 years run by food passionate couple. All the Paratha recipes are made by the Owner. One must try- Aloo Paratha, Gobi Paratha, Cheese Chilli Paratha, Pizza Delight Paratha, P.P Paratha, and Chocolate Paratha. And my personal favourite was Aloo paratha, right on the spices and flavours. They have recently launched chaats in-houses, Aloo Tikki Chaat, Dahi Puri are amazing. Their Bombay Chaats includes- Tawa Pulav that's buttery and spicy. And they have unique dish called Reverse Vada pav which is a must try. And for sweet lovers, Jalebi is must try, it's thin and crispy soaked in sugar syrup. Gulab jamun and Ras Malai just melts in the mouth and no meal can be completed without thick lassi.

🌟 4.0/5 – Delicious Parathas & Crispy Jalebi, Worth a Visit! We had the Paneer Paratha and Mix Paratha — both were generously stuffed and tasted really good. The Jalebi was fresh and perfectly crispy, a great sweet ending to the meal. The variety of parathas here is impressive, with creative options like Chocolate-Chilli, Pizza Paratha, and more. Most items come with curd, chutney, and sometimes lassi, which adds great value for the price (~₹250 for two). While the food quality and variety stand out, the seating space is quite cramped, and it can get crowded fast. It’s a better spot for quick bites or takeaway rather than a long, relaxed meal. If you're in the mood for hearty North Indian street-style parathas without breaking the bank, this place is definitely worth trying.

A little bit of history

This used to be a small family business, which is now scaled to greater heights from the last 25 years or so.

This was a humble start by a punjabi aunty and his son( Rishi), in a small shop on the road that leads to Sanjay nagar, just opposite the present shop.

They used to sell parathas, samosa's, few snacks and we're customer centric and ensured built this awesome empire with sweat and blood.

Over a period of time, this place got really popular and move into a larger capacity where they had sitting arrangement for many customers, which attracted many customers, including college 🎓 goers and families.

They have wide range of parathas, snacks, ghee dipped sweets, which they are mainly popular for and have maintained the authentic North Indian style of this delicacy. They have a signature "Tiranga" Paratha which is quite famous.

The ambience is friendly and you can find families and kids having variety of food here. This place can be busy on the weekends especially during breakfast time Since people order online or visit the shop physically to have hot streaming parathas.

A lot of celebrities including the great comedian Kapil Sharma from the Indian entertainment industry has stepped in during their visit to...

This was the worst experience I ever encountered at any hotel. I had been to this restaurant once or twice before. Today on 08-05-2016 at 2.15 PM, for our bad luck owner of the restaurant was not there. Just because we asked for what is the ingredient in Alloo Parantha, cashier and servers denied to serve until we paid for food in the second service. They deliberately made us get up every now and then for the next service required. They lied it as instruction from their owner and in front of us they were serving others. This is the most unethical business practice I ever encountered. Though we can understand that the owner was not there in the restaurant, I felt this feedback will be of great help to the management. I had come with two of my colleagues and was a great insult for me, and we had to leave the place without finishing our lunch. I have attached a pic of this cashier, who was so generous, in dealing with...

One of my top five veg restaurants which I can visit any time. I am their customer since 2003 when they had two small rooms, one to cook and second for customers. As customers increased, started to have makeshift seating outside. Later acquired the current place and their business has flourished. Few years back the price went up and the quality other way. Didn't visit for a year or so. Started visiting again some five yeras ago as their glory was back. Today's visit made me remove one star as the price had gone up and the quality is taking a dip. The 3M took was mostly matar but very less methi and malai. The Peanut twister has sparing amount of peanut and the taste was dominated by red chilli and garlic slices! For few years the curd was charged, not now, thankfully. Please don't cut on the fillings/stuffing of parathas, otherwise increase in price will be...
